Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
If we did not shop at the local Thai markets for food and whatnot, 90 per cent of our monthly purchases could be made by scan-jie or bank transfers. Local produce vendors rarely have Q codes still ... our roadside motorcycle shop does have a Q code scan-jie option. Rather impressed when I found that out. Still pulling out a bunch of bills from the ATM also acts as a monthly budget, you have a visual of how much money you have left and what you have spent. For us 'right brain' types, this is a good thing. -

Honda ADV 160 (2025) – Stiff Suspension: Should I Upgrade?
ADV is designed for all terrains, hence the ADV which is short for "adventure". It will handle rougher roads and potholes better than other bikes. I think it's a smoother ride than a Click. -

Israeli Interrogator Warns of Continued Violence as Long as Hamas Leader Sinwar Lives
The world would be a much better place without the appropriately named Sinwar. The fact he looks like Jeremy Corbyn doesn't help matters. -

Muslim Faith Leaders Endorse Kamala Harris Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict
"To achieve a result." Reminds me of what Ilhan Omar said about 9/11. "Some people did something." -

Thai cop accused of stealing 30,000 baht in mediation case
Policr officers and teachers have the largest outstanding bank loans than any other profession. Police officers acting with loan sharks for 10% commission shows the low bar demonstrated by the RTP. -

What do you use for contraception?
There is no real reason for your GF's libido to change. The desire for sex comes from hormone production levels - tying off the Fallopian tubes does nothing to interfere with that function. If anything, your GF may find sex more enjoyable without the concern of becoming pregnant. The long-term use of oral contraceptives does increase the risk of cervical cancer, blood clots and stroke. My GF's daughter has had her tubes tied, she is quite active sexually. Not with me, I'm too old for a rerun of "The Graduate". -

Where can I find a very competent watchmaker? Not a battery changer.
My friend sold and serviced watches here. Is this the one everyone is recommending? It's 50m from Tukcom on the same side. -

Solar powered water well pump question
That's why it's good to have some kind of relationship with the local well drillers (and the gub'ment groundwater people). They can tell you if the local water table has moved up or down, and how it's trending long term. That's helpful long after they've drilled the well using their expertise to know how deep they need to drill to get to a good water zone, and where to set the pump in anticipation of next year's (or next decade's) dry season. There are tons of good interweb sources explaining all those parameters, in whatever language you're comfortable with. But local knowledge is still required. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
It's data entry, everything goes into the system and the system spits out those that are incomplete or suspect, otherwise it's check and pass. Folks seem to have this image of metal desks and hundreds of checkers pouring through mountains of paper based returns even in Thailand it's 2024, not 1950. -

Thai visa shake-up: Southeast Asia consulates switch to e-visa only

Muslim Faith Leaders Endorse Kamala Harris Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict
In other words, Trump will stand up to them and their rampant anti-semitism. Unlike Harris, who will appease and enable them.- 1

Thai visa shake-up: Southeast Asia consulates switch to e-visa only
The most important thing from their point of view is that they will still keep their jobs and collect their salaries. Means more time sitting in a corner playing with their phones . Great system for them. Meanwhile , their erstwhile customers will have to pound the pavement looking for an internet cafe to file their application. Great fun . -

Honda ADV 160 (2025) – Stiff Suspension: Should I Upgrade?
I was at the Honda Big Wing safety class when I bought my new Honda 8 years ago, they teached them to use a pen to check tire pressure. -

Reform UK to Pursue Private Prosecution in Manchester Airport Incident
Sad that the two tier justice system in Britain is so pathetic that it takes private prosecutions to bring certain demographics to justice. This is a great move by Reform, even if it is unsuccessful it brings the disgraceful case into the limelight for all to see. Silly post on FaceBook? Rushed through the courts in a week ending in an unusually lengthy jail term. Assault and break a policewoman's nose? Not even charged. I look forward to the gaslighting from the usual suspect on the forum. -

Car recommendations
Hi, I've been here over 23 yr's already (full time) & have bought many new cars (too many as its me cost so much but hey ho) Some cash & a few on finance. The type & make is entirely your choice of course but my advice is to go with the leading top names and DEFINITELY check out your local dealerships before you decide (facilities/workshop/staff attitude etc.) as they are not all good! This goes for bikes also. Good luck.
