How many metres long the wall to build? Is the land long same as wide? Is the land long two times as wide? Is the land long 3 times as wide...or more? From this can estimate. You want all the land with fence around? You want doors how many how big what kind?

Next, how tall you wants to builds?

i like your accent chownah.... :o

Ivaciclo, also you should think about is it a cement block/ concrete wall?

or do you want chain-link fence?

also there is a cheaper one which is 3 or 5 strings of barbed-wire that runs across cement posts about 1 or 2 meters high.

It cost me about 220,000 for a wall on 3 sides of 2 rai property (4th side had wall but also cemented and painted it) - so maybe that gives you an approx idea. That was posts and concrete block - finished with cement for smooth finish and painted (paint was extra because went off and bought it myself). Wall is I guess just over 2m high.

Thanks for replay,

the land is long 50m x 35m of wide, the wall I have to make around all the house and it have to be 2m high behind the house and to sides, I'd like 1 door for people and 1 gate for car.

I don't understand this obsession with 2 meter high walls.

2 Meters is not a barrier to any reasonably fit and agile thief, it is however a 'line of sight' barrier to every single person walking past and hence a very good screen behind which thieves can take their time breaking into your house.

I'd rather have a 1.2 meter high wall which offers the two psychological barriers - 1 the deliniated perimeter and 2 the area of open view with no place to hide.

The cost savings might then be spend on other effective anti thief devices such as motion activated lights around the house and grounds.

Tall walls also keep out noise, traffic fumes and road dirt. A wire fence does none of this. A low wall may reduce fine road dirt a bit. It's not just about keeping out thieves.

Yours is welcome for the replay!!! No problems is there!!!

I'm wanting to be surly I under stands it ok. The land is long 50 and wide 35...rights ok!! Total fence is adding up 50 and 35 for summation is 85 of fence you wants...ok? Most forgetfully I am...you am to saying 2m fence for tall!!!! So double is needed to 85 for making 170m long is your fence!!! Is right, yes? you are making want 170m long of fence?

as described before, a concrete 2m high wall should cost you about 1200 baht - 1400 baht per running metre in and around Pattaya. The furthur up north you go the labour should be cheaper.

Materials 600 baht/m

Labour 650 baht/m

Having had a house broken into in Malaysia with thick steel grills, it became kinda clear you cannot keep a determined thief out ( unless you have a 24hour no fall asleep security guard with a AK-47 ). Grills / Walls etc will not slow them down much. ( in our case, they used a massive crow bar )

Scaling a 2 meter wall should be a piece of cake for experienced thieves. As an interesting note, a friend has a laser beam system ( apparently 4 beams ) around the walls, so anyone who scales it, will most likely trip it. the 4 beams kinda prevent tripping from cats / rats etc.

Based on that experience, I simply want to slow them down, and get the power / fixed phone line independent alarms systems to alert their presence to our security and neighbors. Have a redundant siren / flash behind the house, which is not visible, so if they managed to de-activate the one which is clearly visable infront, they will be in for a suprise.

How high would you need to go to make it impossible for a cat to jump or scale it?

Percy the bionic Persian cat which belongs to one of my friends in the UK can quite easily scale a 2m fence.

He has a rebuilt back leg with metal plates in it etc. and if he walks past you and everything else is quiet you can here him go click, click.

So for your normal agile cat who knows! :o

I have always thought that it is necessary to have a big beautiful trained dog to keep the thieves inside the house, this according to me is more effective than alarm systems.
