Of course, because it is convenient for her to not remember that her mother is from the Brahmin caste, the most elite and some would say racist caste in India.  That certainly would not go over well with her Democratic Socialist buddies. Nor would her father's assertion that he is descended from one of Jamaica's largest slave owners.

I dono I looked her family up on Wikipedia seems to me to come from highly intelligent stock extremely active in the arena of civil rights, brought up by a highly intelligent single mom of color has made a spectacular success of her life dare I say the embodiment of the American dream.quite commendable in my estimation.now compared to trump grew up in a privileged family dad made his money supplying housing for factory workers in ww2 lots of juicy government tit money a member of the KKK lots of lawsuits for discrimination his mentor Roy Cohen was one of the most evil people in our history.trump is a spoiled New York City trust fund baby…….easy choice for me and that’s not even getting into the policy differences.anyway I hope senator Mark Kelley is the vp nonimee that combo would be hard to beat!

If you want the 'embodiment of the American dream', then look no farther than JD Vance. He dwarfs Kamala in almost every way.

I do. Nothing but the facts.

I expect your understanding of cast in Indian society is deep, nuanced and highly reliable.

Or maybe you just throwing stuff at the wall in the hope something sticks.

Actually no.

Both represent different success stories within the American dream.

But the comparison of Harris needs to be with Trump, the trust fund spawn of a KKK member.

At least I know enough about it to spell it properly.  And I have done some research into it, a crazy topic that could become a rabbit hole if you aren't careful.  I do know that it puts her in the top 1% of Indian society. Similar to her father being from an elite family in Jamaica.

Interesting (to me anyway) aside- in the US, many states now have included 'caste' in discrimination laws. Seems the Indian diaspora has brought some unfortunate things with it.

Pampered child of rich immigrants vs. survivor of opiod devastated Appalachia?

But if you want the Trump comparison, you could call Harris the mixed blood spawn of Jamaica's pre-eminent slave owner.

The white boy incels who seem to make up the bulk of the Republican leadership these days would have a hard time responding, beyond the schoolboy name-calling that is really their only strategy.

racist much ?

schoolboy name calling ? like the dozens of names used to call trump supporters ? kettle black.

Interesting to you it might be.

Perhaps because it’s you who asserts, with zero evidence, that caste matters to Harris.

This is something that definitely needs clarification.

I’d bet Berkeley ca could give Appalachia a run for the money on the scourge that is drug addiction although I’d bet money that the IQ points would be much higher!we out here in California call Berkeley bizerkly lol 😂 anyway both people are top drawer on the intelligence quotient but in my view Kamala is by far the better person Vance strikes me as a 2 faced opertunist.I sincerely hope he and trump are flushed down the toilet come November

In response to your earlier post I provided you a link to an article that references Kamala Harris’ own frequently expressed views on the matter.

But as I say and as you demonstrate, your profound ignorance on the matter is impermeable to facts presented in linked articles that address the very subject.

OK I will answer for you since you seem unable or unwilling...

She is mixed race. A DNA test would confirm this.

She can identify as a Squirrel for all I care. The facts remain.

I wasn't aware having Tamil ancestry was something to be ashamed of. Or maybe it's just a cynical approach to garner more of the black vote?

You don’t need to clarify it for me Jonny, I already provided a credible link to article that discussed Kamala Harris’s own long standing views on the matter

I guess you are worried Harris is going to get a lot of votes, I understand that Jonny, you’re not backing winners these days.

She's mixed race. The Indian village her mother hailed from seems very proud of her. Lovely story...

It's a real shame she seems so keen to dismiss this side of her heritage to try and get the black vote. But given her affair with Willie to get promotion, it doesn't seem that morality is really her thing.

Republican leaders urge colleagues to steer clear of racist and sexist attacks on Harris

I haven't seen any racist or sexist attacks on Harris.

All I have seen is Democrats trying to reframe valid criticism of Harris as racist and sexist attacks.

As I said yesterday Jonny, your profound ignorance in this matter defied penetration even by credible links to articles discussing Harris’ own long standing comments on the matter.

I’ll now go further.

Since you have been presented with Harris’ own statements, including her pride in her mixed heritage, your continued gnawing ‘race’ issue you are fixated on can only be attributed to blind and studied ignorance.

You really do not have a clue what you are talking about.

So you accept she's mixed race?

Of course I do, Harris herself has spoken of her pride in her mixed heritage.

Now let’s see your evidence of her shame in having Asian heritage?

Let’s put an end to the ill informed nonsense objections to  Kamala Harris defining herself as a Black American’.

The legal definition of Black American:

e) Where designation of persons by race, color or national origin is required, the following designations shall be used:

(1) Black, not of Hispanic Origin. A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa.

Wow you really scratching the bottom of the barrel to try find something derogatory to say about Kamala. Dismiss her heritage? Pure ignorance. Barely 2 months ago, she was addressing a crowd of Indians Americans asserting the importance of South Asians running for office, saying theere's not nearly enough compared to the group's size in the US and urged for more participation.

Well her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian.

I don't believe Jamaica or India are in Africa.

Yes she seems to be very flexible about her race depending on who the audience is and what stands to be gained.

A lot like Markle.
