Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
yes he is but he's also answering most of the questions we have with regards to the various DTA's, e.g. I was advised by my tax accountant in Oz that my aussie aged pension was assessable and subject to taxation here in Thailand. As a result of viewing this video I now know that the advice received from my aussie tax accountant was wrong as Govt pensions from our home countries are assessable in Thailand but they are NOT taxable in Thailand, only private pensions are, and that seems to be the case with the DTA's mentioned in the video, viz USA, UK, Canada.. Australia & New Zealand. Of course there are differences with regards to private pensions, capital gains etc between the various DTA's and some workarounds are also mentioned in the video. At the very least this video has provided far more accurate information than any other video or post that i've seen to date. -

Pickup Spins Out of Control After Being Honked at by Motorcycle, Crashes in Drainage Ditch
Hey LennyW, it all makes sense now. The bike thought he had right of way because of him going straight ahead. Little do Thai folks realise that the very small funny shaped red sign with English word of STOP means anything ( due to the solid white line across his side). I see same situation many times in Thailand. Driver thinking he had right of way and legally had, was pissed that he was honked for no reason and then once hormones, rage ,whatever took over, the end result was a certainty. -

Trump threatens to prosecute those he claimed ‘cheated’ in election if he wins in November
Like all the slogans and name calling about Trump and MAGA. Obama had 8 years and added to the debt and achieved nothing except Obamacare. Biden/Harris open borders and high inflation. What is there to discuss? The Democrats last good candidate was Bill Clinton. -

Yes I know, and I'm awhare of this but here in Thailand the price is actually going down, and yes I know it is not 24 carats but it is still more or less linked to the international gold price. -

Controversial Monk Somchai Defrocked Amid Local Tensions
At 8 am yesterday, a team of senior monks and Bang Bua Thong police volunteers responded to complaints regarding monk misconduct at a market in Nonthaburi. The monk, identified as 69-year-old Somchai, had been collecting alms regularly and causing disturbances. Upon investigation, it emerged Somchai had been residing in a rented room within an Islamic community for over a year, having been evicted from a temple. He was accused of selling alms and engaging in confrontations with fellow monks, leading locals to report his behaviour. Somchai resisted initial questioning but eventually agreed to meet with the district’s chief monk at Lam Pho Temple. There, protests continued as Somchai argued he was officially certified and suffered from a mystical illness requiring unconventional healing. The senior monks presented evidence of multiple violations, leading to the decision to defrock him. Somchai resisted forcefully, resulting in a physical struggle before police volunteers could strip him of his monastic robes. Additionally, it was revealed Somchai often resided with young women and had a history of violence with other monks, cementing his expulsion. He has been taken into police custody, pending further legal actions should he attempt to impersonate a monk again. Air conditioner is dripping water, is that normal?
That is not normal .. there are brass fitting and bleed valves that might be loose .. would explain why the connection cover looks moldy the condensation drain hose would be on the left side of that unit .. if you did not have one, water would be draining into your room inside -

Why? As an upper middle class Yank, whose only capital gains are within my IRA's (and thus taxable as ordinary income) -- my total income tax paid between Thailand and the US won't change one iota. Yes, I'll now have to file a Thai tax return, and pay taxes on that income designated by the DTA. But my US tax return will have a one-for-one reduction in taxation via the tax credits from my Thai taxation. Thus, my total tax bill between the two countries will be the same as before Thailand goes to worldwide taxation. I mentioned capital gains, because that is the on spot where Yanks can be hurt, since Thailand's taxes on such will exceed by a lot US taxes on long term cap gains. So, yeah, maybe some Yanks, living off cap gains, will feel the pain. Just wonder how many of those types are here in Thailand..... -

Do You Believe: Next year, and the next, will be HOTTER than 2024?
It's not the heat that bothers me here, and keeps me cooped up....rather it is the smoke-plus-heat. I still go out with a mask however. And, I use the best 3M masks for the purpose. They work great! Still, I am sure that it will be hotter and more humid in 2025, just from the feel of things to come.
