Four thieves from Thailand were apprehended by the police for stealing marijuana plants from a farm in Nakhon Phanom, a province within the Isaan region. Their intention was to kickstart their own marijuana farming business.

Complaints had been lodged with the Mueang Nakhon Phanom Police Station by the owner of the farm when he noticed thefts taking place. The culprits made away with prized marijuana plants valued between 30,000 and 40,000 baht. They also stole various popular marijuana species, fertilizer, and gardening instruments.

After examining the surveillance camera footage and conducting a thorough investigation, the police were able to pinpoint the identities of the culprits. Two of the thieves were 16-year-old teenagers (whose names are not disclosed), along with 18-year-old Safe and 26-year-old Ohm.

The police carried out a successful raid on July 31 at a house located in the Mueang Nakhon Phanom district where they managed to apprehend the culprits. They discovered a small marijuana farm with 30 marijuana plants, 12 bags of fertilizer, and gardening tools, all estimated to be worth over 500,000 baht.

Upon interrogation, each of the arrested individuals confessed to the crime. They revealed their dream of managing their own marijuana farm for friends and acquaintances in their local community. They admitted to stealing not only from this particular farm, but also from other farms in the vicinity.

The perpetrators were charged under Section 335 of the Criminal Law, which penalizes night time theft. The punishment includes imprisonment ranging from one to five years and a fine between 20,000 to 100,000 baht.
