What was your job (profession) when you moved to Thailand
Started working and study same time when I graduated high school in Switzerland. A stint in USA Uni and some work/study related stuff in Sweden, Norway and France. Two years later bought my Dad's Real Estate comp. and still worked/studied same time. Company started growing really well after the first 2 years and I managed to get my Master of Real Estate decree. At 25 years old, I had housing real estate, commercial, rental, short time rentals (like today's Air B&B) interior design, construction and for some reason I also owned a video rental as well as a beach restaurant. I then became the main realtor for the State dealing with valuations of a harbour, boulevard, sports fields, churches and what not. I then was the main negotiator in public/private transactions in the field of commercial and industrial real estate. I worked 10 hours per day, six to seven days per week. Took 3 day off for my first marriage, 1 day for the second and did the third in between appointments. At 40 years old, after 3 divorces and no life at all, I broke down and never recovered. Sold everything I had and moved to Thailand. Not after 2 years in a mental hospital though. Now and for the last 20 years I do nothing. -

Over the years
There were no reports of such ever made, which I saw. Offenders could have been referred to the FBI for prosecution, and is a USA Felony to lie on those affidavits. Immigration knew (or shortly discovered) it was against USA law for our State Dept to do more than provide the attestation; they were/are legally forbidden from "verifying" anything. If immigration really cared about foreigners living here w/o income (sleeping outdoors and eating nothing but air?), the first thing they would have done is shut down all the agent services. Everything Big Joke did - from Edu-extension hassles to retirement-rules changes - only had the effect of increasing agent-business, which bypassed ALL his "new rules." The "No Tips" policy only amounted to IOs not taking money "on the side," which did not go into the distribution-scheme. When first rolled out, the guidelines allowed showing a few months income-transfers for new cases - then, they pulled that back. The same reason as the rest of their changes - too many honest applicants, who had the income, were "getting away" with not using agents, for at least their first year. And if you get 2 payments one month, and none the next, due to how your country allocates pensions? Sure, it's the same income, but - back to the agent you go! -

5 year multiple entry DTV visa (Destination Thailand) from 2024-xx-xx
The DTV has a validity period of 5 years from the day it's issued, regardless of your reason to apply for it. However, it's not inconceivable that you will later be asked for proof that whatever reason you had to apply still exists. By immigration, when you apply for an extension or wish to re-enter. So let's say you sign up for this 10 months cooking class you've mentioned and get your DTV issued based on this. A few years from now, an immigration officer could ask you what you are doing in Thailand NOW, and your answer would better be in line with what your visa was issued for.- 1

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
Wrong. Immigration would just give them access to the system lol. They have it already, just like immigration has access to to their system for checking companies to see if their vat is paid. Will they enforce this? Nope -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
I feel like I am covered by the Double Taxation rules, but who can be sure in Thailand? As a US citizen, I definitely have to pay taxes on my retirement income, but I see how casually certain laws are treated, and I wonder about my chances of escaping paying taxes here. I'm willing to move to Cambodia if they continue this unfair treatment, but there is no way to process what is going through their minds here. -

White House Condemns Tucker Carlson’s Interview with Holocaust Denier
No, Generalplan Ost was to be fully implemented after Germany won the war, so its full implementation would by definition have only been possible after the war. Whether and to what extent some elements of the "plan", really a series of presentations, plans and speech transcripts, were in fact implemented is still debated in academia. But it is quite clear that this plan was to be implemented after victory in the east, it was meant to restructure settlements of the conquered East, also by means of deportations to Siberia. Indeed it is still unclear if Generalplan Ost literally talked about deportations to Siberia, or whether it was a epheumism for something more sinister. The plan itself speaks of a period of 20-25 years for the "germanisation". How could it possibly therefore be fully implemented, clearly not the case. This Generalplan Ost really contained several plans, drafted by different agencies, some of which were in competition with each other. There were some parts that were implemented, those being the deportations of Poles and Jews from Poland. Some settlements were established in Ukraine. At the Nuremeberg trial former employees of the RFK Planungsamt Erhard Mäding, Herbert Morgen, Josef Umlauf und Walter Christaller were adamant and declared under oath that the plans of Genearlplan Ost were just theoeretical exercises and never more than a mere brainchild of planners. The judgement of Nuremeberg accepted that it was a plan to rebuild the east. Whilst deportations did happen in Poland, you can not establish any causal link with Generalplan Ost, because only a handful of people in the Nazi administration knew about Generalplan Ost, which was to be kept secret. -

New travel rules: Thailand’s ETA to shake up visa-free visitors
What is not true? I really only have experience with K-ETA. The Japan thing and Singapore is optional prior to boarding. I have an ETA from Australia. I don’t know much about it my company made it for me and it attached to my profile. Whenever I fly a plane to AUS or deadhead there they check it. I would never travel there for personal travel -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
Taxing worldwide income would be a game changer for all wealthy expats(most people not relying on a pension) currently residing in Thailand. Not being taxed on worldwide income is really the main benefit of Thailand for wealthy retired people, or those who have offshore business income, whom have a choice to live almost anywhere in the world. If enacted, this law would hit the Thai real estate market fairly hard as it makes the country far less attractive compared to Southern Europe and a number of other countries. TRD better think twice before they scare away a huge amount of foreigner investment and consumption. -

I'm cheating on my wife and I can't help it.
I think 3 jumps a day is not nearly enough. You should go up to the double, as that will make you have less time to think and feel guilt.- 1

About the high class hotels
What does an 8000 baht room do? Nothing. Go hire 2 women and stay in a 800 baht room. Or go catch a balloon. -

What was your job (profession) when you moved to Thailand
I didn't ... that's why I quit about 30 jobs. Some lasted a week, or a month or 2 or 6. One lasted 1 day. One of the reasons I was self employed a lot of the time. Along with getting my work week down to 2 'full' days a week, with 5 off to actually make money or simply chill. I did work for an airlines (4 actually) after all, and used them flight bennies a lot. -
