Professional Dental Cleaning (not Bleaching) – in Jomtien, Pattaya?

Featured Replies

Hello, would you recommend Professional Dental Cleaning in Jomtien (preferred) or Pattaya? (Actually, I will also do time in Chaiyaphoom, Roi Et, Nakhon Phanom.)

In my neck of the West, what's called Professional Dental Cleaning takes about 45 minutes and is done by a dentist's nurse at the dentist's clinic. It costs 3000 – 4000 THB. Several mechanical and sonar (?) methods are used to remove plaque, toothpaste residue, mango fibers etc. There is no bleaching, so the teeth will look a little less yellow, but not glaringly white afterwards. (I am not asking here about the usefulness of Professional Dental Cleaning, just about the availability in some Thai locations.)

I do speak basic Thai, including "pain" and "can not"; still I guess some English on the nurse's side would be good. I would like to make an appointment before going there, preferrably for 1 pm or 2 pm, and it should be only 1 visit.

Do you have good experiences somewhere in Jomtien (preferred), and what did it cost you?

Thanks!

Well just a normal tooth cleaning cost about 1,000 baht....Any dentist can do it..

This is already an older thread, but I have something informative to contribute. It is best to see a periodontist who offers a deep cleaning. Then you get approximately what is done in a professional dental cleaning, e.g. in Germany or Switzerland (by a dental hygienist). Regular dentists in Thailand usually only clean superficially with ultrasonic and that is absolutely not enough.

In 90% of cases, you will get a superficial tooth cleaning. There is hardly any cleaning under the gums.

Maybe you can recommend a periodontist in Pattaya, I've never seen one.

My dentist is good at cleaning, 30 minutes of brutal cleaning

Yeah mine puts me through it too.. most certainly gets under the gums and calls it deep cleaning too. My level of discomfort doesn't seem to play into it!

This is good....lol.....If a dentist is focused on the job instead of coddling the customer....You know you have a good dentist....

Did many dental cleaning in different expensive Thai hospital, always so soft.

Since many years I tried to understand why cleaning is so soft in thailand compare to Europe until I spoke last year with Dr.Cherry in central festival, she is afraid to do it strong because customers don’t like it. But if you ask her to do it strong she will do it very strong like in Europe. I think good for your gum but you better accept injection… very painful!!

She has quite a crowd of assistants around her, all young women, when at work. I recall once one of them stroking my hand and the main lady singing near my ear. Still wasn't enjoying things!

No idea, I had my teeth cleaned in Chiang Mai.

I go to Ocean Dental in Pattaya, they do a decent job I think it's 1,000 baht for cleaning, good deal.
