Eye Doctor

Featured Replies

The wife is having a problem with excessive eye watering, more irritating than painful and for once she doesn't automatically know a remedy.

In Bangkok, any advice for a not overpriced doctor.

Could be any of a number of issues (dry eyes, allergy, blocked/infected tear ducts...?)

Best see an ophthalmologist and if in Bangkok can recommend Rutnin eye hospital.

https://www.rutnin.com/en/home/

Common causes

  1. Allergies
  2. Blepharitis (which is eyelid inflammation)
  3. Blocked tear duct
  4. Common cold
  5. Corneal abrasion (scratch): First aid
  6. Corneal ulcer
  7. Dry eyes (caused by decreased production of tears)
  8. Ectropion (a condition in which the eyelid turns outward)
  9. Entropion (a condition in which the eyelid turns inward)
  10. Foreign object in the eye: First aid
  11. Hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
  12. Ingrown eyelash (trichiasis)
  13. Keratitis (which is inflammation of the cornea)
  14. Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  15. Stye (sty) (a red, painful lump near the edge of your eyelid)
  16. Tear duct infection
  17. Trachoma

Many thanks for that freeworld, up in the Nakhon she would know but in Thonglor she doesn't.

A few too many bad reviews, she's decided to try a small place in Ekamai.

Thanks very much for your helpful response.

+1 on Rutnin Eye Hospital. I can personally recommend it.

Rutnin is definitely best place for eye problem.

But whlle eye condition should be ruled out, quite possible this is just allergy or reaction to air pollution.

Prof Lalida, Bumrungrad.

I met her for the first time when I was very unhappy with a Rutnin doctor and ended up as Dr Lalida's patient,  20 years ago.

Very good, but not cheap (I once paid 2500 for a consultation of 1 1/2 hours - others charge 1200 for 2 minutes)

Doesn't work every day, though.
