Why did you move the smaller M2 to the 2nd slot please. I am in the same situation in thinking of buying my new PC.

Windows and Programs usually do not need more than 250 Gb

I always use a 1 TB SSD for the boot.

And some (most) progies insist on installing there.

And I always use a high quality Samsung Pro for that.

For me because of the NAND and writes issue.  Longevity.

Note I do not game, however WinBloze is very heavy on constant writes.

Perhaps that is also why he does it. Hellfiknow.  :wai:

Windows needs less that 100GB of disk to operate with most programmes installed. So why would you use a 1TB as your C drive. Better to partition it into C = say 200GB, and a D for your data = 800GB.

I actually moved my One Drive folder to be my D (data) drive, and it works perfectly.

OK, the C partition will get more use, but so will the part dedicated to Windows on the full 1TB drive.

Why did you not buy one without any OS in the first place?

I did think of that but wanted to buy there and then and have done with it (or, rather my Mrs did) so simply chose from the laptops upon display in the shop.

Last month, I bought a gaming computer set from my local Advice Store here in Surin. During the purchase, I opted to have them move the 512 GB M.2 from the 1st slot to the 2nd slot and install a new Corsair 1 TB M.2 with heatsink in the 1st slot. After this was done they would installed Windows 10 on the main SSD. When I set-up the system at home, I deleted a few applications I didn't want and updated Windows 10 to 11. The update was successful with one minor issue. In the lower right corner there was a notification that a Windows key was not found. Checking the security center it stated "some features of Windows were not available without a product key". After 2 days of looking at the notification in the corner of the screen, I decided to research for a solution.

The first thing I did was Google "cheap windows 11 keys". At the top of the search page was the webpage AllKeysShop. com. I went to that site and it had a list of 10 websites to choose from with star ratins and prices. I chose Wincdkeys and clicking on the link took me to their webpage. I selected Windows 11 Pro retail version and added to cart, then applied the 75% discount from the AllKeysShop site. I checked out with my Bangkok Bank debit card. Recieve a SMS from BB for 49.88 baht. I received an email from Wincdkeys within seconds and followed the instructions to redeem the code. After entering the MS product key as directed it was accepted immediately. After reboot the message in the corner was gone. Success!  I hope my experience will be of help to others looking for legitimate Windows product keys.

Really appreciate the step by step process, thank you so much. I've been wanting to go this route but was afraid to test the waters. At least now I know several people have done it and "survived" btw should I be afraid of anything phishing/scamming might be getting through via the key?

In my limited knowledge of web security, I don't think so - it just a series of letters and numbers, no software involved - am I correct?

   For 2 reasons

1.  I wanted more storage and I wanted a faster read/write speed. The pre-installed T-Force 512 GB Z44A5 has a read/write speed of

5,000/4,500 mb/s and the Corsair MB600 Elite is 7,000/6,500 mb/s

2. The MB's no.1 slot is 4.0 the 2nd slot is 3.0

Now they have your debit/credit card information

Not if you use a virtual credit card number.

Be careful about what?

Did you have a bad experience?

Now they have your debit/credit card information and they can use it or sell it to someone else. I wanted to buy MSFT 365 and my friend provided me with a similar site and 75% discount promotion code. I said to him it was question of time when they will start taking money off the card but he answered that he had been using their service since 2 years and never had problems. I said to him they are in information collection phase now.

Anyway, there is a workaround which is to have a debit card connected to a bank account that is literally used for all online purchases. For example, if you wanna buy something from Shopee that costs 500 THB, you first transfer those 500THB to that bank account and perform the transaction.

for online purchases I use a website called privacy  (https://app.privacy.com/) that provides a virtual credit card. It can be setup for a one time use, turn it on or off, set a limit etc. Each card is tied to the merchant you use it at so if the card is trying to be used elsewhere it wont work.

Go to a an official computer dealer and ask for an original Windows OEM package. They are also sold online.

I set up a Bangkok Bank account just for online shopping and it's the ONLY one I'll use for Lazada, Shopee, Ebay, alibaba, etc, any of the more dodgy companies.  There is never more than a few hundred Baht in the account except when I want to purchase something. With the Bangkok Bank phone app, I can transfer the required payments instantly, and never worry that some company is going to sell my card number or empty my account!

But if you want to buy one without windows, the selection becomes narrowed...

You mean Pay 4700 baht for something i can buy on lazada for 99 baht?

I doubt that you really will receive a legal Windows licence key for 99 Baht. Microsoft does not sell the software so cheap. I remember the days when Pantip Plaza sold counterfeit licenses everywhere. The keys worked for a while but were definitely not legal. Of course you can argue that a counterfeit license is ok if it works. Everyone has to make an own decision.

Does msbkk, stand for MicroSoft bkk? Nice that you 'remember the days', but I don't know what that has to do with anything. As we both know, Windows for consumers doesn't really need a licence at all in order to function. Perhaps audited businesses will spend that kind of money on a licence they don't really need...

they are not keys from a pirate keygen
i could explain what they do, and how they provide legitimate keys for cheap
but you are already so sure of everything
cracked counterfeit windows are still available
hence why the OPs win10 key did not work when he upgraded to win11
you cannot just make your own windows keygen it does not work like that

Why spend money of a Windows 11 key?

I purchased a second-hand laptop a few months ago with Windows 10 installed.
Upgraded the Ram (4GB to 16GB) and the Hard-disk (128GB to 500GB) and downloaded an OFFICIAL Windows 11 from Microsoft.
Rebooted my laptop and launched an "Update" and everything was fine.
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

But the OP's Win 10 wouldn't update to an activated version of Win 11. Therefore . . . .

Same here, probably longer. 4 quid off ebay, upgraded to W11 on 3 PCs, same number as it is connected to my Microsoft Account.

You were lucky. Quite often you cannot upgrade Windows 10 to 11 after changing hardware without contacting Microsoft.

Not sure if Microsoft will agree with that.
