ISW Update: NEW | · Russian forces continued counterattacking throughout the Ukrainian salient in Kursk Oblast on September 12 but made only marginal gains, likely due to continued Ukrainian offensive operations and defensive counterattacks in the area. Russian forces have so far advanced in areas of Kursk Oblast that Ukrainian forces were not yet fully controlling nor attempting to control, and Russian forces will likely face more difficulty when counterattacking further into areas of the salient where Ukrainian forces do have A Ukrainian HIMARS strike reportedly damaged a temporary pontoon bridge across the Seym River and wounded a group of nearby Russian troops on September 12. Russian authorities have reportedly deployed additional elements of the Russian 106th Airborne (VDV) Division to Kursk Oblast and may begin redeploying more combat experienced forces to support ongoing Russian counterattacks and future counteroffensive operations against Ukrainian forces in Russia. The United Kingdom (UK) will reportedly allow Ukraine to use UK-provided long-range Storm Shadow missiles to strike military objects in Russia in the coming days. -

I doubt it very much. The UK opposing Germany had very minor military effects in that period. Had the UK accepted the 1940 peace offer from Germany, most likely exactly the same things would have happened, the USSR would have defeated Germany, the empire countries would have demanded independence eventually. I don't see the UK opposing Germany having had much of an effect, after all the British army vacated the continent defeated, and Churchill had little to fight Germany with, apart from bombing civilians. That is why he wanted the US or Russia to do the fighting for him of course, because he coudln't. -

they live by the day in Thailand.. never a view for the problems coming and when they occur, they will see how and what they can do....Nothing can be planned here..Not only for the flooding but many other examples too.. Look at Digital wallet.. They still don't know how to do it.. cash, partly now and next year, on the cellphone... And they claim they are the hub of almost everything -

Agreed... even down to the training of the staff... Though its an extremely bold claim - "best in the world"... ... But the 'best anything in the world' is an extreme claim when it comes down to subjectiveness... That said, the opinions of some so far indicate they have never stayed there don't have a frame of reference and are just poo-pooing something they know little about. -

Date of exit stamp if flight at 1a.m.? Recent experiences?
Yes. I always hand over the boarding pass with my passport. I've always gone through immigration before 23:00 too, so don't know what time they change their stamp dates over. I imagine it would happen at midnight. Conversely, I wonder what would happen if you arrived in the country at, say, 23:00 and took your time going through arrival immigration, waiting till after midnight? It'd probably take that long anyway, with queues, but if you got to the front and kept letting the person behind you go first until midnight, would you gain a day? -

Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
I got married in 2008 and since then been in and out of the various visa scenarios. No big deal whichever way you decide to jump, really a question of what best suits your circumstances. Last Oct i came back on a new visa and new passport so when i went for the marriage extension in the Dec did expect some questions, not so, probably the smoothest one ever, only at the desk about 20 minutes.- 1
