With Paetongtarn Shinawatra, elected as Thailand's prime minister during Friday’s special House session on 16 August, much attention has turned to her spouse, Pitaka Suksawat.

Pitaka earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. His career initially soared with him working as a pilot for a prominent airline. However, he decided to leave his aviation career behind following his marriage to Paetongtarn in 2019.

Currently, Pitaka serves as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Rende Development Co., Ltd., where he oversees investment operations in both domestic and international markets. His role places him at the intersection of high-stakes investment strategies, shaping the financial landscape within and beyond Thailand.

The story of Paetongtarn and Pitaka's relationship begins with a mutual introduction by friends while they were both enrolled in a special academic programme. Their relationship blossomed over two years before they began dating. Within a year, Pitaka proposed, and the couple tied the knot on March 17, 2019.

They now have two children, a daughter and a son, whose presence underscores their commitment to balancing high-profile careers with family life.

The pair’s emerging influence within Thailand’s socio-political and economic spheres is particularly notable. Paetongtarn’s rise to premiership casts a spotlight on their united vision for the future, blending political strategies with robust investment acumen, embodied by Pitaka.

As Thailand embraces its new leadership, all eyes are certainly on how this dynamic couple will navigate their roles, balancing political fervour with financial expertise. The blend of their professional and personal lives presents a unique narrative - an ongoing story watched keenly both at home and abroad.

Or do they, as many Thai parents do, leave the kids with Grandma & Grandad?

Talented, wealthy, good looking (I would guess).....engineer, pilot, real estate manager (looks after Thaksin's estate), investment officer.......and clever enough to marry a future PM.

Hate him.

If your father is poor it's not your fault, but if your father-in-law is poor it's completely your fault

Paetongtarn has invested in 15 companies with a combined value of over 8.4 billion baht.

A peek into new PM’s 8.4 billion baht business ventures

Her investments are categorised as follows:

1. Real estate and property development (total investment 7.47 billion baht)

SC Asset Corporation: 2.89 billion
Rende Development: 922 million
PT Corporation: 914 million
BBD Development: 911 million
OAI Management: 800 million
SCK Estate: 549 million
SC Office Plaza: 418 million
SC Office Park: 70 million

... and some other minor millions stuff....

She and her husband will have to transfer all their shares in all companies to a "blind trustee", who will manage these assets on their behalf. I wonder if Rende Development Co., Ltd. could possibly assist with that...

maybe I should buy some Rende shares myself...

The prime minister's nose is a little on the sharp side. Is it enhanced or original?

must have been promised heaven before marriage... being the hubby of the pm, unlimited wealth ahead...

Make sure that "...Closer Look" is maintained throughout the time the Shinawatra clan is in power.

Incidentally, is he part of the Suksawat lumber dynasty in Chiang Mai?

If so, it wouldn't be a surprise that the Dragonhead organized an alliance of clans.

No different than the last Muppet we had as PM in UK. Are he and his Mrs loaded or what?

Yes some do that but it's mostly folks who are poor and need 2 incomes a distance from home to survive.

oh...then we just have to wait for the next episode when an elite formed higher court, and the opposition push for an investigation of investments made by the spouse connected to the government and the prime minister will be considered biased with prior knowledge and insight into the state's investments that the spouse then bought shares in.....🤫

I edited a little ...

Nice couple of Hi-So elite members , who will fill their own pockets before caring about the welfare of normal thai people . As usual ...
