I probably should have paid the money.
Definitely not the girls. I've never been asked for money for free. -

Photo of Bangkok Governor Alone at Collapse Site Sparks Reflection
Might be worth noting that Chadchart became governor in 2022. The building that collapsed began construction in 2020, on another governor's watch. I'm not sure how much say the Bangkok governor would have had in a federal office building--likely not much, if any at all. He's been educated at the University of Illinois and MIT, one of the most prestigious universities in America. In my opinion, he's one of the good guys--and Bangkok's lucky to have him at the helm at a time like this. -

Dem-backed Susan Crawford wins Wisconsin Supreme Court seat, cementing liberal majority
I’d be an angry militant black butch lesbian too if I had gotten a bunch of ridiculous face tattoos that made me look like the crack baby love child of Tekashi 69 and lil Wayne, only to find out that I wasn’t able to capitalize on it beyond using my likeness to troll expats on AN. But….like you, I too think it’s Bob. Sometimes, I think most of these extreme leftists here on AN are actually MAGA astroturfers who are here to make the left look even worse than they are….if that’s even possible. -

I probably should have paid the money.
Good points. Personally, I have never been in this situation of having to foot the bill without having consented to it beforehand. Contrary to what I have often read on this forum, freeloading is not, in my experience, something Thais will typically do and they will more often have a tendency to be "greng jai", i.e. feel embarrassed/awkward in the situation the OP described. But this woman's attitude definitely was out of order and I understand where the OP is coming from (though I have long stopped being confrontational in Thailand myself – In my opinion, there are more effective ways to deal with such situations privately, with no loss of face involved for anyone).
