You come through the normal channels arriving. Things are going to change apparently around December when foreigners will have to apply online for an ETA before leaving your home, ( rather like you get for the US and since today for the UK too ) . I suppose a whole set of rules will be in the making . I doubt that foreigners will be walking through a unmanned machine. -

Splitting my time between Thailand & my originating country....
This is what I am doing. The visa thing was a big hassle last year and I was seriously thinking of going somewhere else this year. The new 5 year DTV has solved that problem. -

Not disappeared just got distracted by more important things. I will be seeing my brother in law next month (after many years) who understands computers (builds his own) and will get him to explain (simply) what I need and what I should do. Non - O based on having a Thai Child
It depends. In terms of applying for a Non Imm O visa from a Thai Embassy, based on a Thai child, then the child's birth certificate with you named as the Father on the certificate is sufficient for them to issue the visa. Applying for the 1-year extension of stay at Immigration based on Thai child is a different kettle of fish. If you were married to the Mother when the child was born, then you're automatically recognised as the legal Father under Thai law, and one would assume when you divorced/widowed you were granted full parental rights, as the child lives with and is supported by you. On the other hand, if you were not legally married to the child's Mother at the time of birth, then Thai law does not automatically recognise you as the legitimate Father. In this situation, you need to legitimize the child, with which you acknowledge before the law that you are the father of the child, in order to be granted full parental rights. Just nearly sent me back home to Blighty.
It's about time spent in the almost continuously back to back using visa exempt entry. Balanced between time out of Thailand. Current thread just one example... Spending 6 month in and months out using visa exempt entry. Should not be an issue -

Digital Immigration
I flew out of Suvarnabhumi 10 days ago and went through Immigration with the new system they are now using (scanning passport and photograph of the traveler) and I was not in contact with any Immigration officer. How does this work when you return, is it the same and if so how do you deal with later 90 day reports, address notification, etc.,. I mean without a date stamp in your passport? Thanks Felt -

Solution of Honda Wave Seat
Bought rectangle shaped gel pad, and put hexagonal air-pillow on top (chinese import). Kinda works, and can remove at any time. cut it down a little bit on the sides and corners to your liking You can shift the gel pad under this rubber seatpad to the front or back a little bit. I shift to the front to get more level seat area preventing me from sliding forward.
