Thaksin could have avoided what happened 20 years ago, and what happens now, and all the time in between, by being honest and following the law. He didn't.

Following the law.........in Thailand????? You mean like all the generals and power brokers?? Do they follow the law? Have Uncle Too and the time keeper followed the law?

Or could it possibly be that you hold Thaksin to different standards - that you expect better from Thaksin than you do from the rest?

You know what, you sound like a jilted lover! I get the feeling you were once a Thaksin fan that fell out of love with him.

  • Thaksin contiues to openly flout the law and show contempt for the justice system since his return from Dubie. His greed and mega self serving ego  drive him to the forefront  of Thai politics. S

  • Why bother to hold elections in the 1st place when any silly old **** can file a petition with a corrupt organisation to get a polictcal party banned.   Thailand really is in the dark ages..

i seriously doubt his persuasion was done indirectly. More likely he is giving orders and the PTP and his daughter are following them.

Many of them are corrupt.

IMHO the big difference with Thaksin is that he does it so obvious in the open. His "honest mistake" was so obvious - and he got away with that. His deals like giving as PM a loan to Myanmar which they use to buy a satellite from Thaksin's private company. The law changes for the mobile phone companies, the list goes on and on. And a couple of months ago he told us he will retire and take care of his grandchildren. And look now, he is front center again, just what he wants. Openly: I can do whatever I want.

There will be consequences.

As far as I am concerned, they should have jailed him for his "honest mistake".

1. Who are "they"? You mean the same people who tell the courts which political parties should be banned?

2. If Thaksin should be jailed for his honest mistake what should be done with people who instigate coups, rips up the constitution and s**t on the will of the majority of the elctorate?

Well said

For better or worse the Thai people chose Thaksin and gave him the mandate with 2 landslide victories to govern.
He has more legitimacy than any other previous governments or those installed by the military after coups

you get nothing coming in second  it was lucky for PT that MFP was kicked out.  so no PT did NOT win the election

Neither did MFP ‘win’ the elections

They couldn’t even from the government and now there’s not even a party to speak of.

And about getting nothing coming in 2nd? Pheu Thai rule the roost now…..not bad for 2nd it seems

Obviously, you are right.

And obviously, the people in charge somehow don't see certain things. They must have look the other way or were sick on that day or something like that. TiT

Definitely a paid for outcome
