Instead of requesting police assistance, the victim reportedly asked for a taxi, prompting staff to help him into the hotel lobby and contact authorities and rescue services. Emergency responders identified him as Kosel Kanazashi and assessed his condition as serious due to worsening symptoms, including vomiting blood, requiring urgent hospitalisation. The victim indicated that the incident may have been linked to a missing mobile phone belonging to a friend, which had reportedly been picked up by someone else.
