Thailand issues four major announcements on new visa measures
It has been said and repeated numerous times but a lot of people don't understand these rules and think they are OK if they pay in their home country (if double agreement says pensions and/or rents from properties are taxed in the country where this income is generated).. Another issue in France we have on the same document issued yearly by the tax department) the tax amount to pay and underneath what everyone considers as tax but is calculated separately and is a flat tax on incomes (little less than 20%) It is called social contributions... I doubt Thailand will consider it as tax and that would still make a huge difference (in my case this "contribution" is 4 times higher than my tax...) Have a good day -

Best UK Bank whilst living in Thailand
Barclays, in fact they flagged the last one & ended up freezing my account when they couldn't contact me on my UK mobile number.... Their rationale was it was a large transfer (£6,300), made at 4am & I'd sent £4,500 a few weeks before. I explained that I was travelling around Asia so didn't have my UK mobile enabled, was in Thailand so made the transfer at 10am local time but not too worry about the Transfer as I'd made alternative arrangements from one of my other bank accounts. -

This is crazy. Thai's are far more racist than any white country in 2024 with the exception of Eastern Europe maybe. -

Shingles - Worth the vaccination?
I just had it on my face. I have to say I have heard the pain story but don't believe it. Mine was slightly uncomfortable and quite itchy, but certainly not painful needing opioids. Mine hasn't quite gone away yet....wiki says it takes 3-5 weeks. I got a mild neuropathic pain in my cheek for a while but that has gone away. The scariest thing was it started on my chin then moved up the side of my face and looked as though it was going in my eye, wiki says if it goes in your optic nerve it is very painful. Maybe that was why your mate was begging for opioids. I didn't even go to the doctor because they can give you is acyclovir or Famvir and you can buy that yourself. I had it before about 25 years ago, and went to a dermatologist in America. I thought it was some sort of sweat rash but he pronounced shingles, and again not painful, but a bit uncomfortable like a sweat rash. I was under 50 and the US guidelines at the time said you had to have an HIV test because having implies a low functioning immune system. And yes the HIV test came back negative. -

Shingles - Worth the vaccination?
As others have said, I also had a friend that contracted shingles, I asked him if the vaccine was worth it, his reply, "Worth every penny, get it." He described the pain as having your nerves on fire, not really something I'd like to experience. -

Can AIS esim QR code be used multiple times
I learned that an AIS eSIM QR code is usually a one-time deal. Once you scan and activate it on your device, that’s it—it's set up and can't be reused. If you switch devices or need a new eSIM, you typically have to get a fresh QR code from your provider. I ran into this issue and contacted customer support to get things sorted. If you’re dealing with eSIMs and need more info or guidance, I recommend checking out Simify. They offer some great resources and tips on managing eSIMs and might be able to help you out. -

Posts using derogatory and toxic nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be removed. If you don’t want your post to be removed, spell people’s names correctly, this applies to both sides of the political debate. A post trolling about an unrecognized medical condition has been removed. -

Swift endorsement turns more voters from harris than it attracts…
Nothing to do with Harris supporters or pop singers. Its all about having a commodity that you want to sell and trying to entice people to buy into that product by using what is perceived as popular at the time. Wrestlers/Sports people, "celebrities", musicians (or Ted Nugent), Russian Government, film or tv stars are just some who are deemed as influencers. Politics, Tobacco, Alcohol, Pillows, Signature Guitars (don't get me started), whitegoods, automobiles and bikes as an example. The difference is when people lend their support because they really believe in what they are endorsing, or those who do it just for licensing revenue for example, vodka, steaks, energy drinks, fragrancies, lamps, eyeglasses, chocolate etc. I don't think its a bad thing if someone can use their reach to encourage others to become politically aware. Both sides have used this to try and lever an advantage. At the moment its Swift. Politics is big business. Trump appears butt hurt because he does not have an endorsement from someone who has as much visibility. If he did, you can bet your life he would use it to the max, brother ! -

Swift endorsement turns more voters from harris than it attracts…
If I recall the article I read regarding Swift's endorsement, it seemed to be more of a mixed-bag than what you would garner from reading the Post's take. I don't think the endorsement changed too many minds when it comes to voters who were already going to vote one way or another. I fall into that category--I was already voting for Harris. Jesus Christ endorsing, along with already 'saving' Trump, would not change my vote. I think the Swift endorsement will be a small net plus by getting younger voters, especially women, interested in the election, getting them to register to vote, and then getting them to actually vote. Young voters 18-29 have the lowest voter turnout rate in the US. Harris is winning this group but she needs to get them to the polls. The Swift endorsement might a bit help with this. -

Commerce minister plea: Time to cut the baht and boost the rates
Yes, plus a healthy amount of foreign money sloshing about in the vault, their central bank has some very savvy people.
