studio monitor speakers are not for the enjoyment of music

As far as I know the idea of studio monitor speakers is that they reproduce the music as it is on the source, without making it somehow sound better.

I have a 100% digital setup, up to the amplifiers within the speakers. If I want to have the music distorted to sound like a tube amplifier or whatever, then I am sure my software will allow me to do that.

But in the moment, I listen to music how it was produced without any adjustments. And if it was produced professionally, then it sounds great with my studio monitors.

The following is, IMHO, a good video to explain the "analog sound".

Studio monitors are made to listen to imperfections in the mix and or sound.

They have a certain sweet spot and you will have to be right in that spot in order to hear everything clearly.

I know musical engineers who never really can enjoy listening to music, they are always focussing on

sound and any imperfection in the music.

If you want to listen to music how it was made you can use "source direct"

If you think your monitors are what you need to hear nice music then you are missing out on good sound.

Monitors are not made to enjoy the sound of them.

You can make a lot digital but your ears remain analog.
