The body of a man was found with his throat slit in an apartment in Chonburi province. The scene appeared to have been staged to resemble a suicide, with the body laid on the bed as though the victim had taken his own life. A knife was found at the scene.

At 09:30 on September 21, Lt. Col. Natchapon Saengsi, deputy investigative inspector of Najomtien Police Station in Sattahip District, Chonburi, responded to a report of a murder at a public housing project, building 61, in Najomtien. The investigation was led by Police Colonel Watchanchai Saengrith, Superintendent of Najomtien Police Station, with forensic experts from Chonburi's Forensic Science Centre and rescue workers from Sawang Rojanathammasathan Foundation.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found a large pool of blood in the living room, along with a sharp kitchen knife in the blood. There were signs that the body had been dragged into the bedroom. The deceased, identified as 24-year-old Mr. Anucha, was found lying on his side on the bed, resembling a sleeping position, but with a deep cut across his throat.

In the kitchen, traces of blood were discovered, though they had been partially washed away. Authorities suspect the perpetrator may have fled through the back of the room. There were no signs of struggle in the apartment, raising further suspicions.

Neighbours reported noticing a strong smell of blood around 22:00 the previous night (September 20), but did not act until the next morning, when the odour intensified. They alerted a security guard, who checked the apartment through a window and saw the blood, prompting a call to the police.

Mr. Wichai, 60, the father of the victim, arrived at the scene in deep grief. He stated that his son was quiet and kept to himself, having only one close friend who he described as a tall, fair-skinned man serving in the military. The father noted that this friend had visited his son's apartment but was unable to provide further details.

Police, together with forensic experts, collected all evidence from the apartment. Initial investigations suggest the case was probably not suicide, as it was just staged to appear as such. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning the victim’s friends and acquaintances.

The body has been sent to the Forensic Institute at the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for a detailed autopsy. Investigators are withholding further details until they receive the autopsy results and gather more evidence to proceed with legal action.

Must be very bad staging as a person who have a deep cut across throat only walks a couple of steps before falling. If want to stage something would not leave a pool of blood where the murder took place. This is pointing much to mentioned friend, and that he had an emotional feeling after cutting his throat. Therefore moving him from living room to bed as that looks more peaceful.

Now all that usually attacks because of assumptions, can feel free to do that. You all know who you are. 🙂

How do you know how far a person walks after his throat is cut?  Watching this on TV doesn't show reality, as it shows people dying from stab wounds in a few seconds, when it takes minutes to bleed out and sometimes a lot longer. In any event, a person intent on suicide would usually cut his wrists and slowly bleed out, as many have done before. Cutting your own throat would surely involve a lot of pain and suffocating .

What does blood smell like anyway?

Depends on how much, The more, the easier to smell and it has a metallic scent. I see this when I shoot a deer and it takes awhile to find him.

I haven't lived in the West for many years, but I don't recall any murders where throats were slit. It's with a bit up close and personal and scary....wouldn't a gun with silencer be as effective and would put some distance between the criminal and victim.

It has a metallic smell from the iron, but I've never been able to smell the stuff. Taste, yes, after dental work.

Yeah, and it will go much quicker, hence my point. Not taking anything from TV series. Instead I base my knowledge on real life combat, but that´s another story. However, the fact is, that if there are a deep cut across the throat, that would make a person fall down very quickly.

Na Jomtien Police Investigate Security Guard's Death, CCTV Evidence Points to Suicide

Authorities are investigating the death of 24-year-old Anucha Kongkrue, also known as "Phet," who was found with a fatal throat wound in room 169, building 61, at the Eua Athorn housing project in Na Jomtien, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.

During a press conference on September 22, Pol. Col. Watchanachai Saengrith, the chief of Na Jomtien Police Station, revealed details from the investigation. Forensic teams collected evidence, fingerprints, and DNA at the scene, while CCTV footage was reviewed to establish a timeline of events.

The footage indicated that only two people occupied the room: Anucha and his father, Wichai Kongkrue, a motorcycle taxi driver. The father and son were seen using the back door to enter and exit, with the front door kept locked at all times. Anucha returned to the apartment at 13:04, on September 20. Just four minutes later, Wichai left and did not return, leaving his son alone. No one else was recorded entering or leaving until Anucha's body was discovered.

Initial examinations found no signs of struggle or theft. The knife believed to be the murder weapon was located near Anucha's body, along with cannabis paraphernalia. Investigators meticulously documented blood stains, footprints, and drag marks in the apartment.

Authorities have interviewed three key witnesses: Wichai, a friend of Anucha, and a neighbour . The preliminary findings suggest that Anucha’s death may be a case of self-harm rather than murder. However, this conclusion is provisional, pending results from forensic analysis.

Earlier suspicions regarding Anucha's friend, who was interrogated overnight, were cleared as no evidence of wrongdoing was found. Similarly, Wichai raised no suspicions during questioning and was released. Witnesses from the housing project reported that Anucha had a history of cannabis and kratom use, leading to erratic behavior.

Somwang Nuamusing, a 39-year-old security guard at the housing project, described Anucha as a quiet person who avoided socialising . He recounted a previous incident in which Anucha fled, fearing arrest for kratom use.

While police initially suspect suicide, the investigation continues as they await further forensic results to clarify the circumstances surrounding Anucha's tragic death.

oh dear Georgealbert,   this is very distressing news to read in the morning.

The lad was only 24yrs old,  and they are looking at suicide.

Very sad indeed, and we hope the father taxi driver can find the killer and the strength to keep working to pay the room.

RIP Anucha

24yrs old is too young.

If stabbed in the heart, it normally goes rather quickly.

Actually, most people who are stabbed will survive if brought to a hospital quickly. Even stabbed in the heart, up to 90% of people survive. The best chance to survive is if the knife is left in the wound. A cut throat will kill quickly seeing the knife is usually removed and the jugular is cut, bleeding the person out quick. What my point was, is when you see people dying from knife wounds on TV, it's usually bs, as knife wounds take time to bleed out.

Thairath news report  of the grisly scene.

His security guard colleague doesn't believe it was suicide  however the CCTV suggests no one else entered the room.
