Foreign tourist’s gold necklace stolen in Patong alley
Patong Police are currently investigating the theft of a gold necklace from a foreign tourist in Soi Sea Dragon, off Bangla Road, which took place early yesterday morning, October 4. The incident, which occurred around 12.20am in front of a bar, was reported by the victim, Guilherme Rodrigues e Almeida Fernandes, to the police. Fernandes, whose nationality was not disclosed, stated that his 10-gramme gold necklace was stolen by two individuals. He recounted that he went to Soi Bangla looking for a place to have a drink. Upon arriving at the entrance, he encountered two men dressed as women. One of the men, described as chubby with a small moustache and wearing a green dress, and the other, thin and dressed in white, approached Fernandes. They attempted to invite him for a drink, but Fernandes declined and continued walking towards Soi Sea Dragon. In front of a shop named Harem, the man in the green dress approached Fernandes again, engaging him in conversation and attempting to touch him. The man grabbed Fernandes’s shoulder and hugged his neck, while the man in the white dress followed closely behind. Fernandes told them to stop following him, and eventually, both men walked away. Upon leaving Soi Bangla, Fernandes realised his gold necklace was missing. Convinced that the two men had stolen it during their encounter, he returned to the area to search for them but found that they had disappeared. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and gathering additional evidence to identify the suspects involved in the theft, reported Phuket News. In related news, after trying to escape to a temple, a man has been arrested for a series of gold necklace snatchings in Nong Khai and Bueng Kan provinces. Originally from Udon Thani, the 31 year old suspect was living with his wife in Bueng Kan. by Puntid Tantivangphaisal Photo courtesy of Phuket News Source: The Thaiger -- 2024-10-05 -

Ceiling Paint?
Thinned matt white emulsion paint would act as a primer, if you want to go down that road, add a very small amount of black, so when you put the 'Top' coat you can see where you have been, white is a hard color to see when applying more coats. Using thick un-thinned paint (should be thinned anyway normally add 5-10% water, but instructions will be on the tin) will just pick up the flakey bits if you don't give it a quick sanding. -

No wonder people like to shop at Lazada.
Have had no problems along that line. I installed a new UPS battery from Lazada a few months ago, and it's been great. Ironically, the last UPS battery I bought from a local electrical shop died at least 6 mos before it should have. You can buy from reputable sellers on Lazada and the products are not knockoffs and priced accordingly. Supersports, for example, sells on Lazada as well as in mall outlets. Same principle applies with buying SSD drives or flashdrives, among other things often fake. Product pages usually have size charts. Occasionally, vendors state that the size is a Western size. Even so, because you likely are not going to be able to return the item, it's good to try a cheap item or two first to verify what your size is most likely to be in the Asian market here. Works pretty well. I've ordered quite a few shirts, jeans, couple of jackets from different vendors on Aliexpress w/o issue. Good thing about Thailand is that it's so cheap to alter clothes w/ your local sewing lady. I always have my jeans leg lengths adjusted after a washing. -

Kid Rock, circa 2003, when asked about Saddam Hussein: "We gotta get that m0therfncker!" The guy had the gall to chew gum - and then spit it out halfway - during his speech for Cheap Trick's 2016 induction at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Pure class!- 1
