Does the tourist website list sex toys as not to be brought to Thailand.   I would wager a large portion of single men and couples being in sex toys.   What's the ramifications of a tourist getting caught smuggling in a couple dor the trip?

Shame. Sex toys are harmless and give many adults pleasure.

No they are not harmless! They are larger than Thai males and the battery lasts longer, there is the fear factor.

Sex toys... AND?  If you're luck enough to have a partner that is willing/happy to experiment then what's the problem.

Funnily enough it's not something openly talked about in the Western world (Apart from Germany where they are a bit more than kinky).

Conservative be buggered.  Life is too short.

A bit of spice is nice!

The last time I was in Pattaya, I indeed noticed many sex toys being sold along beach road. I happened to know that it's illegal in Thailand because I read in a book, otherwise how could you guess that a country with some much open prostitution would criminalize inocent sex toys??

I agree with this crackdown wholeheartedly.

Thai women are world famous for their promiscuity.

Keeping these evil toys out of their hands means they need us to relieve their insatiable sexual urges.

i have a good female friend in the UK who bought herself a “rabbit” who then didn’t seek a man for a few years as a result, she even stopped socializing and when she finally did get back into dating could not get off with a real man any longer.

She bought it in her early thirties and was a bit of a tart, fairly attractive.

She's no doubt  waiting for marriage to toys is legalized. Wants to have kids, maybe a few little buttplugs running around.

It just shows how pathetically backward this country is that sex toys are illegal.

Those "devices" posses severe moral damage to thai males and might/will develop inferiority complex.
Protect khun thai with "reasonable size" devices! Say NO for 10"! 3" is a fair game.

Also watch the girth >> not more than 0.5"

Anything bigger should be banned!

And the undercover officer that investigated this is in a nursing home. He looks to be at least 90 years old. Although his resume says 35.  When asked he said he never worked so hard in all his life. Oddly, with a satisfied and content look on his face. Stating he would gladly do it again to help Thailand.

The land of Mia nois, giks, high teenage pregnancies, etc etc

You sound like stickman.  If you think that what Thailand is all about maybe you should stop hanging around the red light districts and tourist ghettos.

Thai police uncovered a massive illegal sex toy smuggling operation worth millions of baht. On October 10, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD), led by Major General Saruti Khwaengsopha, arrested nine people in connection with the illegal trade. These arrests took place in locations across Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, and Chonburi.

The individuals arrested included both Thai nationals and Laotian citizens. Their names are Suchada Saelu, Anon Saekhong, Dokkeo Douang Oudom, Mongkol Witoon Inthapat, Niksanh Douangoudom, Chaiwat Chalermsin, Sukho Amornvutthipong, Ekkarat Saewan, and Wutthiphong Plukjai. During the raids, authorities seized more than 2,500 sex toys and 66 electronic devices used in the operation.

The investigation began with suspicions that the group was distributing illegal adult content involving minors through platforms like Telegram and private websites. However, it soon revealed a larger network selling unauthorized sex toys and stimulants to an online community of over 90,000 people.

This illegal trade reportedly made a significant monthly income, estimated between 100,000 and 200,000 THB (about $2,800 to $5,600), with millions in total transactions, reported Daily News.

The arrested suspects confessed to running private Telegram groups and websites for two years, promoting and selling these illegal items. They are facing charges for producing and distributing pornography, operating without proper work permits, and managing illegal websites. Police are continuing their investigation and moving forward with prosecutions.
