I haven't looked into removing / changing those homepage tab icons,  so your saying they're not changeable ?   that's not good.

Did you launch a www page ?  because I find it much faster and therefore less stress than Brave ...

I do not let a couple of seconds more to load a page stress me, have another sip of my tea.

A page will load between  1-3 seconds using Carbon web browser.

Using Brave web browser it can take 3-10 seconds to load a webpage.

That's why I'm using Carbon for normal reading websites ...   I won't use it for login or banks or similar.

As I said, I will keep an eye on this thread, and I am researching this browser also, but it just occurred to me, your biggest "like" of this browser is its speed, but you haven't mentioned what hardware, particularly what processor, and what speed of internet you are on.

I am not using Carbon browser but my speeds are just as good, if not faster, on regular browsers, as you are getting on Carbon browser.

Have you tried Carbon browser on a different network, with some speed tests of the internet connection?

I ask because, you say Brave is slow, but if your hardware is old, and your internet connection is slow, Brave will not be slow for others.

I hear ya'    I understand what you mean,   my PC AIO is about 4 yrs old now ...  I do have alot of icons on my desktop ( 120 probably ) and three folders with 500 photos ...  and a few extensions on Brave such as Ublock Origin, Fast page load and Web boost, as well as the VPN.   Some days Brave is ok, but most days it does tend to be a bit slow,  this could also be attributed to my Condo Wi-Fi ...

For anyone interested ....

I was getting tired of the slow waiting for Brave to open a page,  Opera was the same ....   I cleaned,  defragged,  optimized,  deleted ....  but still they were lagging.

So I found Carbon web browser .... based on the Chromium ...

Carbon is a free and open-source web browser developed by Carbon X Labs based on a custom fork of the Chromium web browser and its powerful Blink engine.

It is super fast,  it is super lightweight,    it is superb to use,   and makes opening webpages so much easier.

Be aware :    it's a 7z file,   so you need Winzip or 7-zip to extract and install.    I had some difficulty,  but finally got the desktop icon.

I won't be going back to Brave or Opera again .... that's for sure.       I'll keep them on my desktop though.

What browser do you use ?     is it super fast   ?

I use both Brave and Opera and have little problems, Brave for avoiding adverts and Opera for the free VPN which is handy for using PB.

I would give Carbon a try except the win zip and 7 zip would probably give me problems as I am not the best for computer literacy.

my Opera takes a while to load up and be ready ... usually 30 seconds at least ...

my Brave is ok,  but does move slowly sometimes ....     like me ..
