Well, polite and respectful would mean not interrupting repeatedly. I'm not necessarily saying he shouldn't have interrupted, but your notion of what is polite and respectful is truly bizarre.

Baier is not a fair and balance anchor. He is as right wing as Hannity. He was given a schooling by Harris and too stunned by her articulation to inject and disrupt with his Maga projection. He tried few gotcha questions and fell flat and didn't land.

Under normal circumstances, yes. But in an intense interview it is sometimes incumbent on the interviewer to steer the interviewee back to the question. The Bloomberg interviewer did the same to Trump, and it is not impolite when done right.  

Baier was also operating under a very significant time constraint. Harris started more than 15 minutes late and refused to extend the interview to make up for it. So basically, he was limited to only half the time that he had prepared for. This made it imperative to be a bit harsh on the wordy answers and drill down to the essentials.

She never answered direct questions. If she had of simply answered questions then no interruption would have been needed.
