The statute of limitations for the massacre, where 78 Muslims suffocated during a military transport and seven were shot dead during a protest, ends at midnight. This time-sensitive deadline has prompted heightened vigilance in Narathiwat, Songkhla, and Yala, with security forces establishing roadblocks and carrying out detailed checks of ID cards and vehicle documents. These efforts aim to prevent the use of any stolen vehicles which could be used in potential attacks. The public has been urged to report any suspicious items, fearing they might be improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Meanwhile, in Yala's Betong district, thorough inspections are underway for vehicles and individuals entering the region, and enhanced security measures have been applied at the Malaysian border. Account opening on DTV denied at Central Marina in Pattaya
Today I had a conversation with the manager at the SCB in Central Marina in Pattaya. She said that they are not opening accounts for DTV holders…yet because they are waiting for guidelines from the head office. Anyway that’s not much information and so not that helpful but I thought I would mention it in case any other DTV people are out there. I would also be curious if anyone has opened an account with a DTV at another bank/branch. Please don’t mention agents. I know you can use an agent. I already have an account with Bangkok Bank. -

Bangkok is set to experience increased pollution levels over the weekend as PM2.5 particles hang heavy in the air, exacerbated by cool weather and poor circulation, according to the Pollution Control Department. Unsafe PM2.5 concentrations were recorded in 36 areas across the city, with Nong Khaem district leading the pack at 51.1µg/m³. These fine particulate matters were measured between 19.5µg/m³ and 53.8µg/m³ early this morning. A combination of local climatic conditions and external influences, like the Trami tropical cyclone traversing the South China Sea, is expected to induce more rain next week, which promises to alleviate the pollution. Until then, residents are advised to take precautions as cooler weather conditions and limited air flow are likely to sustain elevated pollution levels. In related weather updates, the Meteorological Department notes a chill in the northern and north-eastern regions, while some southern areas might face heavy rain.
