Were you worried more about the US in 2016-2020 than the last four years?

All I knows is that my investments were on fire - in a good way as in UP UP UP - from 2016-20, convid period aside.

Good to see Anderson Cooper keepin it real. Finally a real journalist not keeping to the songsheet, and on CNN no less.

This'll never end, will it? Even after the election, the electoral college, certification, inauguration.... The leader of the free world, allegedly. Goodness me. What a divisive farce and an example to the rest of the world in how not to do things.

Kamala is a born loser and only obtained her position in life because of diversity hire. Anyone listening to her word salad speeches knows "the lights are on but no one is home." Old Biden picked her as his VP because he thought she would be an asset to him. Little did old Biden know that she would kick him down the road and try to take his place. Cackling Kamala will join Hillary as another loser to Trump.

Joe was supposed to pass the torch and do one term. He might have but he became demented and his wife, Doctor Jill I use the term doctor loosely probably also kept him in.

If the dems lose it is entirely their own fault. One stupid decision after another.

They could have had a primary like the GOP trump was in the race but didn't have to attend. At least then they would have had an alternate

Biden ran and was basically unopposed out of respect for an incumbency of what democrats at least consider a successful first term.

Then last minute he withdraws.

No, in this instance, having a new primary was literally impossible.

They could have come up with an alternative to that with delegates (rather than voters in states) to fight things out in a few days.

The democrats decided not to do that for quite good reasons which you may or may not agree with.

All delegates had the choice to not vote for Harris for the nomination, yet almost all did.

Water under the bridge now.

It amazes me how blindly naïve a population can be, Biden is a dottery old man unfit to hold the position and his current VP despite not being old is no better choice, maybe worse!  She has changed many of the Dems policies just to get elected and once in office it will be back to the status quo and the US will sink further than it already has!!

Yeah best economy in the world, low unemployment, regular stock market records, such horrible sinking!

So, bottom line...  She was installed by the Dem elite, without winning a single primary vote.

You can put all the lipstick on it that you want.  It's still a pig.

Installed is the wrong word.

She was overwhelmingly chosen by elected (by primary votes) delegates to be the nominee in the historically difficult situation of a nominee exiting so late in the process. If you're saying that democratic (or republican) delegates are party activists, of course they are!

What I find super stupid of critiques such as yours is implication that there is some kind of constitutionally mandated process for how parties are to choose their nominees. There is no such thing. They are separate from actual elections.

The primary system with the two major parties (nothing about parties in the constitution) didn't begin fully until after World War 2!

A brief history of presidential primaries | Constitution Center

Things That Are Not In the U.S. Constitution – The U.S. Constitution Online – USConstitution.net – U.S. Constitution.net

Snipers (mostly maga fascists) about the process that made Harris the nominee suggest there is something illegitmate about it.

NO! It was completely legitimate.

Parties determine their own rules. Period, End of story.

I was kinda hoping that Hillary would throw her hat into the ring. If only for the entertainment value of watching Lib heads explode. :coffee1:

You're not fooling anyone.

You obviously want Trump.

Biden would have lost in a landslide.

Harris is at least competitive.

So you trash her legitimacy.

If there had been some kind of open process so late in the game (there could have been) it would have been a massive risk for the democrats to nominate a candidate in an environment of internal bitter division. Democrats were not willing to take that risk. The stakes are too high.

There was zero chance of that happening. But understandable that a non-American outsider would harbor such bizarre and unrealistic fantasies.
