Are you aware that Polymarket has confirmed that these pro-Trump betting averages may have been heavily skewed by a "Frenchman" who bet $30 MM in four separate bets that Trump will win the election, that betting transactions on this website are strictly in Bitcoin, and it is, at least technically, not open to US citizens?

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/24/polymarket-trump-french-election-bet.html

In addition, there appears to be some evidence, that the polling averages are being skewed by Trump-friendly pollsters who are generating poll results which make it appear that the race is much tighter than it is. The below clip, regardless of what side of the fence you're on, sheds some interesting light on the subject of "bad" poll data generated for political purposes. Go to the 12:20 minute mark in the below clip.

What  makes this much more sinister in the case of Trump generated polls, is that this doesn't seem to be being done simply to generate voter enthusiasm or to keep morale up, but also seems to be being done in order to lay the groundwork for claims that the "election was stolen," i.e., "how could we have lost the election? All the betting markets and polls were saying we won?"  Reading some of the "Trump's going to win by a landslide" comments on these threads from the MAGA cult faithful, it needs to be pointed out that the message on the Harris/Walz media sphere side is much more "this is a tight race, but we're cautiously optimistic."

Unfortunately it's looking like a Trump landslide, with worrying repercussions not just for the US but all of us.

I blame Dr Jill Biden.  She should have stopped her husband even contemplating a 2nd term, so that the Democrats could have properly voted for a candidate who could, and most probably would, win.

Now that is one of the most sensible comments I’ve seen so far. I think Jill liked and enjoyed being the surrogate president and didn’t want to give it up.

Its bigger than her as a candidate. Its what the left has become now that has forced me to vote for the first time in my life. If the country tilts any more liberal it will all fall apart

The problem she had going in was she was a candidate that the DNC ruled out when it was primary time, tried to replace as VP for the second session and could not win an election unless it was a California no competition.

She has no platform other than trump is a bad man.

She also was in power when the country went to hell so she inherited Biden's issues.

If she could answer questions with real substantial info, it would also help.

Like an actual plan that had something other than word salad

All of you Trump aficionado's have been chased by wisdom, but you have always managed to stay ahead of it.

Why the race isn't already over in favour of Harris is absurd, and is more of a statement about the American people than anything else. Those who would support a convicted felon, a twice impeached former President, an adjudicated rapist, etc etc is well beyond me.

He will lose in a landslide, and you will eat crow.

Why Trump was always destined to lose.

He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W. look smart and articulate. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws - he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: 'My God… what… have… I… created?

Unappealing, unattractive, idiotic, incompetent, hateful, hurtful, abrasive, rude, blowhard, liar, cheater, thief, infantile, failure, loser, fraud, sexual abuser, incestuous, tax cheat, insurrectionist, un-American, dictator-loving dictator wannabe, out of control, sociopathic, convicted felon, toxic narcissist & brutish A-hole.

Everything about the con-man referred to as Trump is unlikeable. He's everything wrong with the human animal, all stuffed into one specimen.

In my opinion he started to fade in the last year of his presidency. He may have had a minor stroke. Since then, it has been a steady downhill path. Far less coherent than in the past, very hard for him to continue a sentence for more than 15 seconds, alot of rambling, complaining, playing the victim card, and juvenile name calling as usual. Even most of the CEO's he met with recently were shocked at how lacking his message was.

I agree that she doesn't seem to have a particularly coherent message but when you contrast her to Trump, who's cognitive faculties have been on the decline for a few years now, she comes across as a blazing genius, a or a nuclear physicist. Trump comes across the schoolyard dummy.

Trump is the true Marxist. His use of disinformation and propaganda is right out of their playbook. So is his adoration of dictators.

You think? Consider the avalanche of untrue propaganda emenating from the various legacy media sources in the past week. All with the sole purpose of propping up Harris' campaign and sabotaging Trump's.  There is the faint waft of desperation and despair.

And the only answer from Harris supporters is the usual ad hom.  More invective, more hyperbole, more sputtering vituperation.  Guess what? It ain't working.

Proven bankrupt six times, banned from business in NY, and barred from setting up charitable foundations. Ripped off investors, employees, and banks.

Proven rapist and criminal with four arrests and dozens of indictments. If that's your idea of a 'proven leader,' then sure—he led the U.S. straight into hundreds of thousands of unnecessary COVID deaths through sheer incompetence.

But if 'birdbrain' is your best critique, maybe leave the ornithology to the experts and stick to facts.

We could accurately say, nobody voted for her at the presidential level. She quit the primaries in 2020 before a single vote was cast. She was installed this year as nominee without a single vote cast.

Not installed.

Nominated by duly elected delegates who yes were obligated to nominate a replacement for Biden.

Stop lying.

This makes sense.  If Biden had done the right thing and announced he was not seeking re-^election earlier, the Democrats could have run a serious primary campaign, and IMHO would have chosen a different candidate.

But even if Harris had survived that trial, she would have been more battle tested and sharpened enough to face a general election. As it is, she  was simply appointed with no opposition, and no chance to practice her political skills. That is a large part of the reason she seems so rusty and dull.

Face it, the Democratic party elite were terrified to suggest another candidate. The repercussions would have torn the party apart.

The historically late timing of Biden's withdrawal is not Harris' fault. She has coped brilliantly with the pressure of that as well as creaming Trump in their one debate.

True. A grub still flying in his private jet. A grub who has his own golf course and golf resort. A grub who lives in a Manhattan penthouse. A grub whose suits cost more than you make in a year.

Some grub.

Biden would have suffered an electoral landslide.

With Harris it could go either way.

Yes of course it would have been preferable if Biden hadn't run from the start.

But that's not what happened.

That's on Biden, not Harris.

As someone else said, probably on Jill Biden. She was so in love with the trappings of being in the White House, it was hard for her to contemplate leaving.  Joe has been a potted plant more or less since his inauguration.

I get the feeling that Joe, consciously or not, is hoping for Harris to lose. That way, he can say, "see, I TOLD you I was the better candidate".  If she wins, it is a bad look for him.

Let's not forget, the only reason Kamala got started in politics, is because she was sleeping with then Gov. Brown. He gave her the CA Attorney General job, gifted Then she got a Senate seat. We all know why she was selected as a running mate after Obama. She was ineffective as a Vice-President. She was nominated by the Democrat's without a vote in the primaries. Last night she had a left wing setup on left wing CNN, townhome meeting. She was given such soft ball simple questions. She could not answer any of the questions. Her answers, left you wondering, what the heck is she talking about. Again, she could not directly answer a question. Even CNN and the Donkeys are saying she looked bad. How can you loose a one on one debate, when every question, was approved before hand, yet she lost the debates. She is way worst President than Trump. Even the hardcore states that the donkeys have controlled, are loosing the black voters. I can't wait to see how the donkey's are going to fake the results, when this idiot, unqualified Vice President looses.

Kamala is a born loser and only obtained her position in life because of diversity hire. Anyone listening to her word salad speeches knows "the lights are on but no one is home." Old Biden picked her as his VP because he thought she would be an asset to him. Little did old Biden know that she would kick him down the road and try to take his place. Cackling Kamala will join Hillary as another loser to Trump.

word salad.jpg

The undecideds and independents in a few states will decide the election, that is all that matters. Since both candidates are disasters, especially given the size of the US and potential pool, undecided voters have to look at these two and decide which can they tolerate more. If Harris wins, there is a chance she's in charge for 8 years, following a predictable domestic and foreign policy path. If Trump wins, much more unpredictable outcomes, but he can only govern for 4 years. Do they lean Trump and hope the next 4 years they survive, or Harris and same old same old for 4 years, and potentially, 8 years. How they answer that question for themselves will decide the election.
