However, if you frequently associate with Thai people...then...

Maybe you should give this Topic a bit of thought....

First, no I don´t believe we smell like wet dogs if not wearing a wet t-shirt and let it dry numerous times on the body.

Second, the above begs the question why you should fail your hygiene standards just because you mostly live alone? For me it doesn´t mater where I am and with how many people around me. I always see to that I look clean and smell good.

Yes, this heat gets to me.

I have fairly bad BO after a few hours.

And I refuse to take off my shoes when entering a Thai house because my socks think worse than my BO.
I have tried perfume and stuff but it doesn’t really help.

Say that about a black or Hispanic person and see where it goes in the US.

The implicit acceptance of anti-white racism by Western leaders is really an attempt at provoking society to descend into chaos.

Ordo ex Chao - Order out of Chaos

Don't buy into it.  Stand united against racism in all of its ugly forms.

Go hang around Africans, Indians and Euros if you want stench. Although I have never met a smelly Brit

Go back a century or so.  The Japanese often commented on the fact that British sailors smelled very bad.
Look up "Great Stink of 1858" and realize that Brits often did not bath do to a rational fear of contaminated water.  And it wasn't particularly a cultural norm as in Japan.

Dear Folks,

IF you do not come from America, you might not know about this.

IN FACT, this is true.

In America, there seems to be a rumor going round that White People smell like wet dog.

Personally, I do not smell.

Yet, some do.

And then, have you ever wondered?

What might Thai people think, ....really?

Do white people smell FUNKY to the average Thai person?

I think it might depend upon one's diet.

I have known soi dogs to attack white people, just based on smell....alone.

This is why I always eat Thai food.

So then, what do you think?

Does your wife tell you that you smell different, based on reports of her Thai friends who come to visit?

This is a REAL THING in America...if you have ever been to the USA.

image.png.f7ee032344c6b7b78152b7db2f33509b.png

As for me, I live alone, mostly.

Therefore, no need to worry what I might smell like.

However, if you frequently associate with Thai people...then...

Maybe you should give this Topic a bit of thought....

Best regards,

Gamma

I'm not surprised you live alone.

Clean is the only way to live.

Impossible not to shave for more than 24 hours, also.

Probably one reason why imprisonment in the USA is bad if they allow only limited showers per week.

What? You say "clean is the only way to live", but in the post I quoted, you posted that you live mostly by yourself and did not care???? Really?

You can eat the apple and still have it?

The shoes are the only thing I can't clean.  If you throw them in a bucket and wash them they smell like bad water.  You can't win with shoes.

If someone works out how to make washable shoes I will buy them with my Digital Wallet.

You got your topic from the worst place ever. Reddit!! It is not a rumor or a fact. It is one persons thinking only. Perhaps because they met some lowlife on the street begging for money and he had not taken a shower.

Something to think about when you are with Thai. It is not their fault though. The foods they eat give them really bad smell from their breathe. Chinese people smell even worse when they sweat or breathe. If i do not shower and sweat in this heat, I smell sour or ripe if not using deodorant. I am sure you also smell bad if you have not taken care of the smell produced from sweat..

I believe it is the way clothes are washed.  Not just Americans, but other people also. Not enough proper detergent and not drying the clothes properly can cause a wet dog clothes smell.

I found out that my smell of BO lingers in my shirts, no matter what conventional detergent/regimen I use.  When that happens, I soak my shirts in dilute vinegar for 12-24 hours, then wash them.  Works like a charm.  (Being a wingnut conspiracy fan, I think that low water usage washing machines are a birth control plan...  Less sex if you smell bad.)

If you're wondering about your own shirts, try ironing one.  Even a T-shirt.  That's how I found out mine carried the funk...  I was ironing on some reflective safety patches, and the smell was unmistakable.  Especially around the pits.

Don't get me started on "the garlic people".  Asians (mostly) that eat so much garlic that getting into an elevator with them is nauseating.  Not so prevalent in Thailand, though.

No worries.

I did NOT take this topic from Reddit.

I have been aware of this for many years.

Check the Topic.

I stated that this is a REAL THING.

Sure, it's also bizarre, but a real thing, too.

Reddit did not provide any inspiration for this WONDERFUL Topic, I will have you know.

And, we have known that food consumption can affect human body odor...for many years.

Soldiers, for example, also tell of this.

I eat tons of garlic.

Everyday.

Keeps the ghosts away.

I always request that tons of fresh garlic is added to my 5-egg omelettes.  Delicious.

Yes.

You did see the quotation marks in the headline, presumably?

However, the inspiration for this Topic did not come from Reddit.

Most people, I reasoned, would NOT believe me, if I posted this Topic, if I were to say that this subject has actually been a topic of conversation in the USA for a very long time.

Therefore, I intentionally employed the quote from Reddit, as well as in image from Reddit, to partially substantiate my case that black people actually DO talk about this.

This is not racist, either.

If the White Man smells different, due to diet or for whatever reason, than I am curious about the Topic.

Also, this must be the same for other people who do not share the typical American diet for White People, whatever that is.

OR, perhaps the White Man is using different aftershave...or...SOMETHING.....

Maybe different soap?

Nobody knows, probably.

Still, this is something that africanamerican people have talked about in the past.

Whether or not Thai people also talk about this topic, I also do not know.

I recall that either Japanese people or Chinese people mentioned this to me in the past.

And, perhaps this difference in body odor between Chinese people and American white people is just a product of their overly vivid imaginations.

No Chinese or Japanese friend of mine has ever told me that I smell like a wet dog.

But if they did, it would not bother me.

Because, I am not the one being bothered by an offensive smell.

Also, who is to say that WET DOG is not something that some people like.
