Popular Post GypsyT Posted November 2 Author Popular Post Posted November 2 (edited) If you eat farang places in Bangkok (I don't, just look and compare) food can be like 250 B for breakfast and 70 B small cup of coffee. 30 steps away nice full Thai breakfast for 70 B, coffee 35 B. There is happy customers to both, I guess. Fresh fruits are very good and cheap too. Cheaper than Jomtien, especially bananas and red grapes. - 40% off. Same w cooked rice; 7 B a big bag. 3x bigger than Jomtien small bag for 10 B. As somebody ( Jose?) said "On Nut area is working class, that's why low prices. Suits me fine and gals are not snobby. The 24/7 noise is getting to my nerves. Time to move to Jomtien beach - only ONE motobike,,,, Edited November 2 by GypsyT 1 1 3

You can also pick up great meats and cheeses in their deli, along with a nice bakery. The breakfast special is like under 90B. This menu is not up to date but close.

Patong2021 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 The generalizations are under attack. On 10/29/2024 at 8:43 PM, GypsyT said: Nobody cares on Jomtien? U r wrong. Who's gonna take care of needs of women if I don't come? In respect to this comment that was made, I was under the impression that Jomtien was the go to destination for Pattaya region LGBQTS2+ people, like the happening place for older gay men. Why then would there be women in need of care? Has something changed in Jomtien? I have been to Pattaya, but not to Jomtien, so I may very well have the wrong impression. What really surprised me was how much cheaper hua-hin is compared to Bangkok. I was out a nigth in Bangkok and they asked 120 baht for a drink..the same drink i bought in hua-hin for 60 baht. Wow. I find that Hua Hin is as expensive as Bangkok and more so on higher end things. For example, the quality hotel brands like Marriott and Dusit have higher rates than comparable hotels in Bangkok. It is understandable though since they are on the beach. It is all about economy of scale and Bangkok offers that. Bangkok also offers a greater selection of products, the big BUT is you have to know where to go and how to negotiate to get the lowest prices in Bangkok. Cocktails at most decent restaurants in Hua Hin are 120-150 baht. Night life is certainly better in Bangkok. One can go from a string quartet soiree to a ripping good dance club very easily. Not going to happen in Hua Hin or Pattaya. Pattaya tourism targets lower end foreigners and regional convention/seminar clientele. It's pricing reflects that. The silent killer now for Pattaya is the traffic congestion. It is not improving. The congestion has added a cost to staying in Bangkok and it has destroyed Patong. Hua Hin is no better in high season. 1
