Biden’s 'Garbage' Gaffe Could Give Trump a Political Edge

I don't think so. Trump makes equally foolish statements seven times every day. The entire MSG event was racist, misogynistic, and nasty. They will clutch any straw. Means nothing. Harris is going to win big. See ya Huge Don!

It reminds me of that quote I once saw -

'Why do Democrats need a perfect walk-on-water candidate when the Republicans pulled a booger out of their nose, stuck a red cap on it and called it President?'

It is having the effect of a double whammy.

Biden not only said it; but he said it during a time that Kamala was trying to gain a political edge with yet another speech denigrating Trump and his voters.

The pearl clutching is truly a sight to see.

Your man utters nonsense all day long, targeting foreigners, pop stars, celebrities and anyone else who comes into his radar CONSTANTLY calls people belittling names but yeah an OUTGOING Presidents calls you lot garbage and the world is ending.

Thing is, even if he meant it the way it sounded, he's not wrong. An AWFUL lot of garbage people in the MAGA camp.

Amazing to think he is still PINO (President In Name Only).

He is a busy President between coordinating with Harris a lot, campaigning for senate candidates and performing his duties as a President. Those foreign policies need his steady hands. Quite a contrast in the last few months of Donny mismanaging the covid pandemic.

Is that the line now?

The plural of supporter is supporters.

Say "The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” and tell me how, in English it can be interpreted as anything but singular and with an apostrophe".

Supporters is the plural of supporter. Meaning more than one.

How do you put an apostrophe into spoken language?

Oh wait a minute, it was CBC who did that. Got it...

Yes, it's difficult, perhaps impossible, to note the difference between "supporter's'" and "supporters'" when hearing these words spoken. The point is his transcript, which he was reading, had "supporter's," a singular possessive, referring only to the comedian who made the "joke" about Puerto Rico being garbage. So, that's a failing of the scriptwriters, not Presiden Biden. And he's explained that since and apologized for the misunderstanding. Which, by the way, is a lot more than Trump has done about all the demeaning names he's called Harris and her supporters.

Trump did too. Even when he was supposedly working it was probably watching Fox News or sending tweets about nonsense. Or having experts try to communicate complicated issues with him in one page summaries so he'll at least have a look.

There is no pearl clutching. There is only the realization that if you are a Trump supporter, you are a target for the violence of the left. You arent even human in their eyes.

And yours.

Thank god for the Second Amendment.

He was talking about Trump and therefore Trump's supporters. It's perfectly clear what he meant just as it was with Clintons Deplorables comments.

It is perfectly consistent with many Democrats views of people who support Trump. In fact, it's more polite than most (Nazi, fascist, stupid, brainwashed, racist etc.).

It's just the latest in a long line of insults and inflammatory language.

I note that DE Pepe was just given life without parole for his attack on Pelosi's husband. Was that attack not prompted by inflammatory language?.

Yes he meant it exactly how it sounded.

He was playing to the crowd. People like you. That's why it came across so vitriolic, spiteful and ignorant.

Why did Biden use the word "is" in that sentence? Is he illiterate or perhaps some home schooled MAGA attack dogs are illiterate?

And you call us snowflakes. Get over yourself. Geez.

YOUR man started all this name calling and continues to stoke hate on a daily basis. He's not even hidng his racism and neither are his cohorts whether it is Miller with his "America is for Americans and for Americans only," or your favourite comedian Hinchcliffe with 'And these Latinos, they love making babies, too. Just know that. They do. They do. There’s no pulling out. They don’t do that. They come inside, just like they did to our country. Hahahaha! Republicans are the party with a good sense of humor. … There’s a lot going on. Like, I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now or even Rudy Giuliani with his 'The Palestinians are taught to kill us at 2 years old'  nonsense.  https://www.democracynow.org/2024/10/29/jean_guerrero_trump_rally_nyc_msg

Another pearl clutcher extraordinaire.

Take your faux indignation somewhere else - it doesn't wash here.

You're missing the point about the apostrophes, but I suspect that is either purposeful, your belief in lies, or an inability to understand the grammar.

But, yes, I do think Trump and all his supporters are "garbage," wasted remnants of citizens who have been changed from free-thinking individuals to members of Trump's cult. I like Hillary's term best - "deplorable."

Of course you do. It's perfectly in line with what many Dems think. At least you have the stones to admit to your bigotry, unlike Biden who tries to roll back on it like a coward.

Trump making the most of it of course. Just like he did with the McDonalds appearance.😆

I didn't watch Harris speaking, except for a clip on the tv news, and it seems that it was just another Trump hatefest and nothing about HOW she would make life better. She says a lot about making life better, but seems lacking in HOW that will be achieved.

It doesn't offend me at all. I thought it was quite funny actually. It exposed his bigotry but that came as no surprise.

The only thing I find puzzling is Biden's cowardly rollback. I thought he had bigger balls than that. Actually, thinking now of how Nancy Pelosi chased him away from the candidacy, no I didn't 😆

I have heard a lot of strange stuff coming out of Biden's mouth, but this was the dumbest ever!! Calling people "Garbage" is a guaranty that Trump will laugh on his way to the White House!! I suggest they put a tape on his mouth and hide him away for a while! He is definitely not in his right mind these days----🙄😫
