Due to hospital treatment to my throat I have difficulty getting food down, Smash (or whatever it's called now) would be ideal. Anyone seen anything like it here.

If you mean mashed potatoes, you can buy on Shopee

No these are packets of dehydrated potato which we add boiling water to. Produces non-lumpy mashed potato, ideal for throats that have been bombarded with/by radiation.

Have it in Tops Macgarret or something like that Australian

I've also seen these in a few other places over the years, can't remember where exactly but there was no Tops in Hua Hin until recently and I definitely bought some - Villa I think.

If I would have seen this a few weeks ago, I would have donated my stash of Idahoan that I bring back from the US ever few months, but alas, my larder is now empty.

How is Smash compared to Idahoan?

Chemicals vs chemicals, taste wise?

As others have said you can get Smash online.  There are some other brands too.

Makro carries McGarrett instant mashed potatoes.

Also Makro has some frozen mashed potatoes, Farm Frites, that are pretty good.

They both seem to be out of stock at the moment though.

You can also get instant rice porridge from the 7/11.

Amazon.com : Pack of 4 Knorr Cooked Thai Jasmine Rice Porridge, Chicken, 35 Grams (Pack of 4) : Grocery & Gourmet Food

I like that stuff.  Wife bought me some when we were there in July and August this year.

I can understand you may not want to be doing this yourself if recently recovering from serious illness and treatment.

Is there anyone to take care of you ?

... Could they 'boil' a load of potatoes' and make real mash en-bulk ?

- Skin & Boil the potatoes

- Mash them with cream (or full fat milk) & butter

- Blend it and push it through a sieve to ensure no lumps.

... Freeze some of it, keep some in the fridge, then make it when you are ready ?

The reason I suggest this alternative is 'real mashed potatoe' would not contain the chemicals that 'dried Smash' or their equivalents do.

Otherwise, as suggested -

Britshop: Smash at 275 baht

Lazada: Varios Mash-powders - varied prices (from 135 baht upwards)

https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/mashed-potato-powder/

Makro: 100g isntant Mash (51 baht)

Surely making your own mashed potatoes would be easier.  You can always add extra butter or milk to thin it down and then put it through a sieve to smooth it.

Due to the fact that I'm not up to going out, the Mrs isn't up to understanding what I'm  talking about,  that's almost what I'm  doing.
