If the shopkeeper is really asking this. Then he deserves to lose it. Clearly, the housekeeper sold his gold and used the money to buy all the things listed here.
No matter what, even if she sells the house and land and other things purchased, the owner will lose millions over this.
What i can not understand is why recordkeeping about inventory and income is not checked more thoroughly in a gold shop. Had they bothered checking those things then this type of theft could never occur continuously.
Most with the means in your part of Thailand prefer to buy land and build the house how they want.
Your comment that you are asking a sensible price is not what you are governed by. The price of the house is worth what buyers are ready to pay.
