Your anti Trump rants I have read I took you to be an entitled feminist Karen type to be honest.

Not at all. I was just stating my opinion. I don't like the man, I've never liked the man, I never will like him nor respect him. I was calling it as I saw it, a lot of his supporters didn't like hearing a lot of the facts that I was stating but I'm anything but a feminist. I didn't eve like Harris. But I did vote for her over Trump. Perhaps that means I don't suffer from any misogyny? And I am anything but entitled, and I'm anything but a Karen type. Although I do find that very amusing, thanks for the laugh.

Who ever voted for Trump and living in Thailand will be in for a big shock when the are getting their pensions cut by       Trump!

Of course all US citizens are going to feel that pain but it will be a som nam na moment for many!

33 percent cut mandated by law if the program isn't fixed. Stopping taxation rapidly speeds up that dark day as the taxes go into the funding.

I plan on starting.a topic about this on the home country forum.

Updated Nov 07, 2024 at 2:13 PM EST -- One chief concern throughout the election campaign has been Social Security, which currently faces a funding crisis that would see benefits slashed by roughly 20 percent by as early as 2035.

20, 25, or 33 such cuts would be devastating for probably the majority of recipients.

Yes and according to the linked Newsweek article it might even happen as early as 10 year from now.

I recall reading much sooner if Trump's promise to stop taxing ss goes through.

Lower income recipients are already not taxed on SS!

Soc Sec cuts ... never going to happen, as ~1/3 of the voting public and growing.

Everyone knows why the fund is in trouble.   The 535 idiots drained it.  Something employees & employers funded, so not an 'entitlement'.  Paid for in advance.   That Congress sucked it dry is their problem.   Just raise taxes as usually and print more money.

Remember, the country can't go bankrupt, because you say it's so.

It will happen if reforms aren't made.

The cuts are automatic and mandated by law.

It will turn out to be a bit like this but a lot of people can not or will not see it.

And all the while the Harris Hatchet became more and more blunt until, at the end, it was useless.

Fine. You can do the worrying about it for me.

Yep ... in 10 years, I'll be on 80 yrs old.   Don't need my SS now, and sure won't need it in the future.   I don't think I know anyone that depends on their SS to live.   Just extra pocket money to play with.

People that depend on others (govt / companies) to take care of you in the future ... well ... nuff said

It doesn't matter how many posts I have- a guy comes on a forum, is upset that people don't agree with him, and "threatens" to leave. This is the definition of a being a snowflake. Don't coddle him.

I think the tread is a joke, and it was said lounge-in-cheek.

Is that you dandy?

A 25% cut to Social Security does not mean a 25% cut to one’s benefits.

Eliminating fraud, efficiency improvements, raising the age, allowing people to opt-out, move SSI to a different departments, raise payroll taxes, any number of things could be done.

Yep, because that's what I wanted, but more importantly, all I needed.   It's a machine that takes us from point A to point B.  In the comfort level we require, nothing more, nothing less.

That's why I don't need my Soc Sec.  Don't waste funds on depreciating toys.

Spent just as much money on land the last year, as we did on the MG.  So if & when the wife needs another car, it will be from the profits of the land sale.

Same as the MG now, and present house we live in.  Paid for from the profits of the last house & land.  That house was paid for partially from the first house we sold.

See how that works.  Not only do I not need my Soc Sec, I don't need to spend the money I came to TH with for appreciating purchases.

Like the Soc Sec fund use to be, our money is a self generating fund for our future.

Most of the MAGA "celebration" on this forum seems to be graceless ball spiking, gloating, and relishing thoughts of retribution towards the opposition, and hostility towards marginalized communities and women's rights. I don't see very much celebration of proposed policy initiatives, or calls for unity for that matter either.

Are MAGA supporters really enthused about:

JFK Jr. taking over the FDA?

Trump's minions revamping the Federal bureaucracy by making loyalty to Trump the main job qualification?

Steve Bannon appointed to go through the Justice Department and the FBI to supposedly root out the "deep state" but in actuality intended to eliminate any oversight of the Executive Branch of the government by the Justice Department?

Wealth and income inequality increasing with the passing of lopsided tax cuts which favor the rich?

Ukraine being thrown to the wolves?

The weakening of NATO?

An even more right-wing judiciary being appointed?

Regulations safeguarding the environment and worker safety being tossed to the wayside?

The prospect of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare being phased out?

Inflationary tariffs being imposed?

An administration which thinks climate change is a hoax?

None of the above bothers you? Still gloating?

How about the hostile racial climate your non-native English speaking Thai wife or future Thai wife will encounter when the round ups and mass deportations begin?

Or freezing of social security benefits for beneficiaries living abroad?

Or other countries restricting visa availability and imposing taxation requirements for Americans in response to more restrictive American immigration policy?

You only think that because that is what you, as a leftist would do.

By “marginalized communities” do you mean the people of Springfield the left laughed at and held up to ridicule?

By “women’s rights” do you mean the right of women to compete against women?

That woman have the right to shower with other women, none of which are walking around the shower with an erection?

That woman in prison have the right to not be housed with an intact male rapist wearing a dress?

Yes, each of these leftist policies should be retaliated agaist.

yawn

Everyone now knows the left lies.

Take each of your bullet points and start a thread about it, and watch them all fall apart.

So maybe you're hoping under Trump there will be cutbacks in ObamaCare and Medicare so that "claim denied" (will be) likely and common.

I don't really care in the US but I'm pretty sick of the Lefties. You have the Donald, lucky you, we in the UK have Donald Duck
