In a bizarre incident in Suphan Buri, Thailand, a man known only as Beer was arrested for coercing a 15-year-old boy to steal from a temple on November 8. The theft aimed to gather funds to bail his wife out of jail.

Beer threatened the teenager, Nueng, with a knife at Chaiyanawat Temple during a funeral, forcing him to drive to Suwannaphum Temple where Beer seized a donation box containing 350 baht. Subsequently, he attempted to pry open the box near the provincial court before being apprehended by police.

Police found Beer visibly under the influence of methamphetamine. Upon sobering, he confessed to the theft, explaining his desperate financial situation and need to bail out his wife, who was jailed on drug charges.

Beer now faces multiple legal charges, including theft, carrying a weapon, drug use, and involving a minor in a crime. This arrest adds to Beer's history of legal troubles, with existing warrants for embezzlement, theft, and drug offences pending against him. This incident highlights a tragic tale of desperation and crime interlinked with drug addiction, leaving officers and the community pondering on the deep societal roots of such acts.

Makes you wonder how they got that way, though.  Mentally ill?  Abused as children?  There has to be something sh*tty in their childhoods.
