Popular Post Georgealbert Posted November 9, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2024 A British man sustained head injuries in a road rage incident with a Thai driver after a minor traffic collision led to a heated confrontation on Pattaya’s busy streets. The altercation took place near the LK Metro Hotel on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya’s Nong Prue district, Chonburi province. Local rescue services were alerted to the scene, where they found Mr. Edwards, a British national, bleeding from a head wound and an open cut on his left arm. He claimed to have been struck with a weapon. Nearby, a Thai driver identified as Mr. Arthit, 35, stood with minor injuries. Rescue workers administered first aid on-site before transporting Mr. Edward to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Witnesses reported that the conflict began with a minor collision at an intersection near Leng Kee on Soi Buakhao, leading both drivers to pull over to resolve the matter. Mr. Edwards had been riding a black Honda Scoopy motorcycle, accompanied by a Thai woman, while Mr. Arthit was driving a white Mitsubishi car. According to eyewitnesses, the drivers followed along side each other until they stopped in front of the LK Metro Hotel, where an argument quickly escalated. Bystanders reported that both men were visibly agitated and unable to reach an agreement. Witnesses stated that the situation intensified as Mr Edwards believed bystanders were taking sides. In the heat of the moment, Mr. Arthit, in a display of anger, reportedly grabbed a metal rod, he later claimed in self-defense and struck Mr. Edwards, resulting in the British man’s injuries. The Pattaya Police are investigating the incident, reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to determine if charges will be filed. Authorities have urged the public to avoid confrontational behaviour and to settle disputes peacefully, particularly in busy public areas where emotions can easily run high. Popular Post mikebell Posted November 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2024 So the Thai guy had a weapon in his car (for protection). Are these batons permitted to all drivers? With no police force in Pattaya, I witness 100 traffic violations an hour each time I am forced to venture out on to the roads. Should all farangs who know how to drive, buy one against the 90% of Thais who have no idea their car is already an offensive weapon? 6 1 1 1 5

Nice bit of whataboutism and farang apologizing there. sadly we see too often the road raging farang crazies, often drunk, often high on drugs, often just angry with the world in Pattaya so not a bad idea to have these defensive weapons in the car to protect yourself against them. Doesn’t look too serious in the video, just a mild touch up to teach him some manners 3 11 1 3 3

And defensive weapons, more so meaning weapons to attack, are carried all over the country in cars, under scooter seats, on tractors and on person because this is a learned behavior of cowards. Screaming, blasting the horn, flipping the bird etc. All the violence you claim is primarily Thai on Thai. I’ve never experienced anything you described., Not even once. Soi Bukow traffic is chaos. Leave your countries traffic regulations back home where they belong. Right or wrong best to adapt to the local way of driving. Give and take in traffic situations go a long way with the slight head nod and a little old fashioned patience. 1 3 2 2 9

Give and take in traffic situations go a long way with the slight head nod and a little old fashioned patience. Can't assume anything about anyone unless it's proven fact. I know most crime here is locals against locals, and it happens all day long, every day of the year. You can watch the daily news and see a small fraction of it. I didn't mention anything about traffic. Anyone can see the driving here is among the most dangerous on earth. And the laws on driving are much the same everywhere, although here they aren't enforced anywhere near what happens in the west. The way to adapt to driving here is to stay away from everyone as much as possible, not trusting what they might do next. 8
Woke to Sounds Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 The damned drugs again! For the Brit it's time to suspend his license, plus a fine should do the trick. The Thai guy should be fined and license suspended for ONE YEAR. Thailand can no longer afford to mollycoddle rule breakers. 4 1 1

Popular Post VBer Posted November 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2024 Looking at him, I definitely can say that this British gentleman started the initial dialogue by something like this: "Excuse me Sir if this unfortunate collision has broke your plans for today, as the two well mannered gentlemen we can turn this issue in peaceful and civilized solution very fast, for we both can proceed to our no doubt important business" 4

Good on the Thai gentleman for teaching him some manners My ex came at me three times with a knife, and I've heard it many times from others personally. I also watch the news a lot and research crimes. How many farangs have you actually seen angry, beyond normal pissed off actions? A lot exaggerate things. You weren't there , so can't comment on what went down. I've seen some very disturbed people who looked very calm beforehand, then attacked others looking the part of a madman, so that doesn't work either. Also can't comment on anyone being a "gentleman" if they hit someone and you don't know the circumstances. 3

And brown nosing gets caught out and people understand why others do it. Yes, locals do read this forum. And tell me where I've gotten anything wrong, because always doesn't apply to anyone, especially me, as I mentioned earlier. It surely does for you most of the time, assuming you know anyone here or how much they know, and basing your replies on your own lack of knowledge on subjects and a barstool philosophy. 1 3 1
