Pol. Lt. Kunatip Khuikammi, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Sattahip Police Station in Chonburi, received a report of a fire at approximately 19.55 on November 10, at the Jungle Moon Boutique Homestay Resort, located at 178/1 Moo 11, Bang Saray, Sattahip District, Chonburi. The officer coordinated with Mr. Yosawat Phuwaratlertkun, Mayor of Kled Kaew Subdistrict, to request fire trucks from nearby municipal departments, including those in Bang Saray, Kled Kaew, and Khet Udomsak, along with six emergency rescue units from the Sawang Rojanathamsathan Foundation.

Firefighters arrived to find flames engulfing a wooden residence within the resort complex. Despite immediate efforts, the blaze took over an hour to fully extinguish. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported, but the owner, 47-year-old Mr. Pheeraphong Chaikampha, watched in shock as the flames consumed part of his property.

Mr. Pheeraphong, who was inside the resort when he smelled smoke, found flames and heavy smoke coming from his private quarters. He tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful and quickly called emergency services. He managed to retrieve some valuables, including cash and gold, though the estimated damage to the property amounts to several million baht. The valuables saved included gold, weighing a total of 67 baht, worth approximately 3,000,000 baht, which was partially damaged by the fire

Mayor Yosawat explained that after receiving the report, he instructed the local disaster prevention team to respond promptly and coordinated additional support from neighboring units. The Jungle Moon Boutique Homestay Resort, which offers accommodations and a cafe popular among foreign tourists, suffered damage due to what appears to be an electrical short circuit from decorative Christmas lighting wires near the guest rooms. Fortunately, the quick response from fire crews limited the damage to only part of the resort, and officials plan to assess further damage on the morning of November 11.

Pol. Lt. Kunatip and his investigation team recorded the scene and confirmed that the suspected cause as an electrical short circuit. Evidence will be gathered by forensic specialists from Chonburi’s Forensic Centre 2 as part of the ongoing investigation.
