For all we know that barrister died two years ago or retired to Thailand!

No! He, if he really is a barrister, is still posting but nothing recently about DWP/Pension investigations etc!

What discrimination?

The first reciprocal agreement was a blatant act of discrimation.

Of course you are free to believe that it didn't create 2 classes of overseas pensioner, those that could and those that couldn't.

Written statements - Written questions, answers and statements - UK Parliament

Dated October 2024

"I would like to advise the House that the Government will bring forward a new Fraud, Error and Debt Bill in this Parliamentary session to be tough on criminals, fair for claimants and provide confidence to the taxpayer.

The Eligibility Verification measure will not give DWP access to any bank accounts, nor any information on how claimants spend their money. The proposed new power instead helps verify benefit eligibility, using very limited information from banks and financial institutions."

The bill has not yet been introduced so Cannot take effect in January 25 and unlikey in even 26!

And with that post I wish you goodbye!

Please come back when/if the bill is ever passed!

Did you actually read your link........?  🤭

let's stick to what the Gov is doing to stop pension fraud.

Indeed, but wouldn't that include legalised fraud perpretrated by the government.

Like many others, ignorance leads to a fixation on the state pension being a single entity.

"You are now making excuses," - what excuses you claim "state pensions" are a benefit yet the govenment describes them as "pension schemes"

Who on earth should one believe?

Weeeell, it seems the UK state pension is a benefit as some MP's are not happy about it, so I just go by what the law is at present...

How many days does one have to live in the Uk to get the pension increases?

Is it enough if you are a tax resident?

Instantly, if you go back for a holiday, tell them, you get the increase for the time you are there, but it goes back on departure.

Tax makes no difference, it's where your feet are planted...... 🤗
