The next is foreign properties.. condos.. apartments etc etc

They will tax it and take it.

If they let us own land they would not have this problem of nominees. Seems like the racist Thais want our money but they don't want us.

That will never happen.True that they just want our money.I will never ever invest anything in Thailand.

I dont want or need that.My money stays in my bank for myself and spend when i want something. But not any kind of properties in Thailand.

The Chinese designed plague changed the whole world, yes.....................

Just wait.   President Xi is readying Covid-25.  I expect that release date will be sometime soon after McDonald Trump takes office.  Perfect cover for a rapid invasion and seizure of Taiwan.

here we go again.... is this an attempt to draw attention away from Thaksin...or the Red Bull dude, or any number of issues.

If you're driving from Cha Amm to Hua hin you will pass a massive development of condos now rotting away, someone put a tonne of money into them it looks like a write off of money or a wash house off a large amount, who knows??

I know a Chinese woman who has a Thai nominee father for one of her kids, so she can get an extension. Chinese husband and real father is on a retirement  extension that you are not permitted to work on. He goes out to work everyday, and of course they managed to buy a house.

Thai nominees are the law, put in place to keep the cash flowing in and the Thais in control.

Seems the cash is being filtered elsewhere. Changes ahead.

By “done correctly” what do you mean?  Didn’t think Amity had any intersection with property, but please correct if I am wrong.

I am English, i believe Americans can own 1 rai, correct me if i am wrong, i am not trying to make a smart comment, something to do with the Vietnam war.

I guess there will soon be lots of fancy villas and condos available for sale on the cheap side...

I was wondering if we were going to enjoy playing the scary music for our members who own property in a company name. Glad the tradition is respected.

Not a truer statement ever said.  Why can we not own 1 or 2 ria?  We are not hurting the majority of Thais that cannot afford to buy it!

You don't need a Thai nominee to own a Condo.

True, but foreigners sometimes resort to a company to buy a condo in the Thai quota when the foreign quota is already sold out. I guess they really, really want to be in that building for some reason.

Then they should be aware of possible consequences or their decision.

In fairness, it's often hard to know what to believe. Lawyers always claim no problem, some honcho verified the periodic crackdowns don't apply to simple property ownership for a residence. Me, I wouldn't take the risk, and I wouldn't want the extra paper work and tax. But, up to them.

Are you talking about the Energy, the worst and ugliest condo development in Thailand. Only in Macau or New Territories can you find this type of development. We are not talking brown kraft envelopes but ocean freighters.
