I've been doing it on line for about 1.5 years.  No problem at all.  I find that if you do it on the weekend it takes a day or two to get the confirmation.   M-F usually the same day.

Thanks for the heads up about the new passport.  I'm getting one next year.  Maybe I can get the new passport stamped and the 90 day at the same time.  I'll try to plan it that way.

All I'll say is there is a sign on the 90 day desk in Jomtien saying that you have to do it in person the first time returning from overseas. I didn't bother attempting my usual online as a result, went in in person 2 weeks ago mid-afternoon, no queue to hand it in but a sign saying the waiting time was 1 hour. I live in the area so rather than wait just picked it up the next day when it suited me. Will go back to online for the next one as it has worked every time for me since I first signed up.

Drive through in Chiang Mai takes around 30 seconds.

They now also have a walk through window that also takes around 30 seconds.

The second paragraph is stating that if a person on a multiple entry visa or has an extension of stay and enters using a re-entry permit a new TM30 report is not required.

 

The new rule apparently does not apply to those on visa exempt entries and single entry visas of any category unless they left and re-entered using a re-entry permit during the original entry from it.

 

The law regarding TM30 states that the landlord, property owner or manager (in the case of a hotel or guesthouse) has a legal obligation to report the stay of a non-Thai at their property.

It changed during last upgrade and it's annoying. It used to go to first unread post which makes sense, now it goes to last post and you have to figure out which post you're up to.

Not in Phitsanulok. Had the same TM30 for 5 years, in & out of country, hotel stays etc. They even printed a new one out for me as the old one was getting a bit tatty. Even after visits abroad, on-line works for me OK.

What is your immigration office? In Jomtien this is not true unfortunately. I have multiple entry visa and last time they clearly told me I need new TM30 every time I enter the country. They even threatened with fine if I don't do it next time.

Friend of mine pops across into Laos for the day to do some shopping,where do you think he stays.

A couple of years ago I went into Malaysia on the morning Hat Yai shuttle and came back on the afternoon one. About 4 hours in Malaysia but feel free to call it staying there if you want.

Almost EVERY Immigration Office has the OWN policy and way on almost all paperwork.

 

Yes, I have read and understand th English version of 4 & 38 of the Immigration Act and revised.

 

I have done my own TM-30's, as needed ( 5 years now ) as House-Master at my local office ( 10 minutes from my front door)  - 5 so far this year due to hotels filing a TM-30 where I have stayed on holiday and overseas trip.

 

I also do a TM-30 for visitors staying at my house, usually the 1st piece of paperwork they need for what they plan to do.

 

My local office also require a new TM-30 returning from overseas trips - I found out the hard way when I went to do a TM-47, they required a new TM-30.  Thankfully the officers said since I had a perfect immigration record ( 12 years ) at that point, they were only going give me a verbal warning - no paperwork or etc.

 

Living In BKK, I was NOT permitted to do a TM-30.

 

Quit Bit¢hing, find out what YOUR LOCAL OFFICE POLICY IS for ANY paperwork and follow THEIR POLICY.
