Authorities in Pattani Province are on the hunt for two armed robbers who stole 1.2 million baht from convenience store staff en route to deposit the money at a local bank.

At approximately 14:30 on November 18, officers at Mayo Police Station received a report of the robbery. The incident occurred outside the Kasikorn Bank branch in Palas Subdistrict, where Ms. Marina Maming, 27, an employee of a convenience store, along with a colleague, had been transporting the cash by motorcycle.

Upon arriving at the bank, two unidentified men approached them on an old red Honda Wave motorcycle without a visible license plate. The suspects, one armed with a handgun, reportedly spoke in Malay, demanding the money. They then opened the seat compartment of the victims’ motorcycle, seized the cash, and fled in the direction of Mayo District.

The driver was described as wearing a collared shirt, while the passenger wore a blue hoodie and long jeans.

The police have launched an intensive search for the suspects and their vehicle. Efforts are underway to track down the culprits and recover the stolen money.

Yes, the insider and his his Malay migrant workers

Oh dear... How I wonder if it was an inside job? Convenience store worker carrying 1.2 mil baht under the seat? Who would know they were doing it at that time? Speaking Malay as reported could be a ruse to distract police thinking the robbery was done by a foreigner instead of a friend.

I must say. 1.2 mil baht to deposit from income at a convenience store? I am in the wrong type of business haha...

Why would anyone have 1.2 million baht laying around?

Finally. A legit robbery. Thailand is ripe for enterprising thieves

I remember when I was 17 I had to accompany a female office worker at my work in transporting the money bag to the bank deposit slot at the bank. I think we had to do that every time we made $15,000.....I guess it was my job to be the muscle....although I was told not to attack anyone who robbed us, just to hand over the money.....I  asked them "What's the fun in that?" .....The store manager gave me a dirty look....LOL

Just FYI, coming from someone who lives in neighboring Narathiwat, the locals speak Malay instead of Thai. So there goes your theory.
