Former BBC News Chief Voices Concerns Over Verify Unit’s Impact on Journalism Credibility
You prefer your propaganda served up straight no filler, by RT & FOX. I wouldn't call Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity or Tucker Carlson journalists, but hundreds of good ones out there. Just reread the book by the two ST reporters about the Green River Killer. One of the first, and there have been many, failures of "profiling". That fact seems to upset people, BTW. Why was I reading that book? The old fool in charge of the investigation, was running for our State Governor this last election. Thankfully he lost but amazed anyone could vote for him given his past record of incompetence and failure. Still all he had to do was look good, smile and lie. He was a Republican, qualifications are low. Yet today as few people read, easy to gloss over & ignore his epic failure for a generation of semi illiterates. -

Focus on Koh Samui, Thailand – 2024
I once looked at Bophut as a place to stay and having looked went to another beach. Unless it's changed a lot it had a rubbish beach. -

Cheapest good weed now ? I found 350 thb/gram but not cheaper yet, any idea ?
Not sure of the correct spelling on swish in this instance, but in American English, it's slang for cool, hip, or meaning to be nicely appointed. Somebody might say they have a swish apartment. Meaning like it checks all the boxes. -

Bangkok's New Pet Rules: Microchips and Space Restrictions for 200,000 Cats and Dogs
So try to control the owners of the dogs, but leave the soi dogs roaming around. Makes no sense. Sure owners should have their dogs collared and be responsible for any harm done by them, but the stray dogs get to run around barking, biting and chasing cars and motorbikes. They tried to do the spay and neuter here, but didn’t get all of the dogs and now we have 14 roaming our sou with 3-4 new puppies. They are aggressive and kill neighbors cats and try to attack my dog when I’m walking him. I have to carry a stick and if they get in his face with teeth showing they will get a swift stick to the head. No safety concerns whatsoever for the residents and their pets. -

Letter from the British embassy to release a body for cremation
Not done it but the embassy website outlines the process. Seem straightforward enough provided someone can be identified as their next of kin. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/what-to-do-after-a-british-person-dies-in-thailand -

Drink deep, my brothers, of the delicious tears of the deluded left!
I know how she feels and am sympathetic. But she, like me, must accept the fact that Trump won the election, showing that almost half of our fellow citizens have been conned by him or, worse yet, actually have the same values he has. It's a sad, sad time, and the next four years will undoubtedly be some of the most disruptive and destructive in our nation's history. -

Focus on Koh Samui, Thailand – 2024
While I consider that to be a sales propaganda PO* I have to disagree with you on the "sunset" thing. IMO it just means having dinner on the beach at sunset, not that one can see the sun setting. I gave up on Samui turn of the century when it went trendy, expensive and unfriendly. I went to Phangan instead and never regretted it. May it stay airport free for ever. While I gave it up for not liking it as much as Phangan, judging by the photo ( I'm pretty sure it's Lamai ) I'd literally hate it now.
