As would have been the case even more if the moronic Harris would have won.

Well admittedly she wasn't a leading light but she would have been presentable internationally and would have received respect instead of hidden giggles.

Huh?   We're talking about Harris, right?   She would have received overt guffaws!

At the very least it is the position of being the President that is respected, respecting the attributes and abilities of the person comes a little later.

It is my opinion that Trump has dragged this elevated and respected position into the gutter, he is a criminal, a rapist, a liar, he even cheats the workmen and small firms who work for him and he is also possibly a traitor, whether by design or stupidity. He has divided his country and it would appear now he will attempt to divide the world with Tarifs, which history shows doesn't work, it strengthens the competitor to be even better, see China with the huge strides it has made in chip production and new innovations with the machines to produce chips since China was cut off from buying the latest machines from Holland, great! now they make their own.

If he manages to survive 4 more years cognitively, which I doubt, he will leave America a poorer place. It is my hope that Europe can bring the herculean effort to move away from the US and realign themselves, why stay tethered to a sinking ship.

Good grief...

Well I too was aghast with disbelief that Trump won but I have since comforted myself with the thought that those who voted for him have got the president they deserve.

I agree... I just wish they had their own boat.

Trump is going to impose tariffs of 25% on imports from Canada and Mexico, from Day One. 35% on imports from China.

I would like an intelligent Trump supporter to explain to me the following:

1/ How this policy will not cause the cost of living to rise in America, with consequent inflation.

2/ How this policy will not provoke retaliatory actions from those countries, making American exports less competitive.

think you need investigate a little more, CNN wont tell the whole story.

Yes day one 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico, however this is in place until Mexico and Canada help secure the boarders.

Quote" "On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders," Trump wrote. "This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!"

True, the main point is to continue the self-aggrandizing narrative that @Walker88is smarter than Trump, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy.

None of them are really seriously stupid... they're just seriously selfish and arrogant.

Anybody who accuses others of being an incel is an incel themselves. People who are getting laid don't think about NOT getting laid they think about getting laid.

So tired of these assumed superiority Liberals looking down on everybody and insulting them. Nasty people.

The op is deep and thoughtful. The typical, willfully ignorant repond exactly like you just did rather than make an intelligent rebuttal.

Those deep thoughts simply reflect an attitude and worldview that was flat out rejected.

Why should tripe like that be given any more respect. I think you are still the willfully ignorant here my frfriend. Scary thing is you believe you're not.

Agree completely, and not the only one, and I don't think any kind of therapy will help them.   Crowd psychology seem to plague many with the same syndrome :coffee1:

So having an energy secretary with the IQ of a turnip, in charge of the safekeeping of millions of litres of radioactive waste, does not concern you.

Trump voters are really going to get the government they deserve. Tighten your jockstrap, increased cost of living, reduced welfare checks and healthcare, RFK in charge of the nation's dental health. A sh!tshow for the next four years, self-inflicted.

Sure it does. It's a clown show with weapons of mass destruction. I'm not even upset at the Maga people that voted for him, I'm mad at the Democrats who bubble the election cycle and couldn't put forth a candidate more of the country could support. A lot of folks who voted for Harris had to pinch their nose to do it. Those folks voted against Trump - not for a candidate they admired.

As I said, I looked at the number of paragraphs in the OP's post and didn't even get far enough to know it was a political rant. The vote is cast, and worrying about it from here isn't going to change things. Winter is coming Jon Snow 🙁

A political rant with verifiable claims.

Agree, America and the rest of the world is looking at economic chaos. A guy who has 7 business bankruptcies behind him, running the world's biggest economy - what could go wrong?

Seems to be a lot of bad losers on this thread blaming their loss on thick voters. we are not the ones who incinerated a billion dollars thinking the electorate would accept their sub calibre DEI candidate. That is thick.

Still waiting for an intelligent rebuttal of the OP's post.

When do we get our reach around?

Sorry, stopped reading after, to start with....

I believe one of two things will happen. Either countries will bow down to the Orange one and go along with what he wants. Or, many Westernized nations will band together, set up trade programs, social programs, and become like the EU of the world and leave the US to its own devices.

Slapping a 25% tarrif on Mexico & Canada to get them to stop illegal immigration and drugs is crazy. This would destroy Canadas economy. So unless Trudeau and the other leaders both provincially and federal, don't start looking at alternatives to trading with the US, Canada will become a defacto state of the US.

On a side note, if the Orange one wants to stop immigrants coming across the Southern border all he needs to do is give the order to shoot anyone coming across the border at any place not designated an official border crossing. With SCOTUS giving him full immunity for any order given, illegal crossing would cease after 2 days once they see 30 to 40,000 bodies piled up on the Mexican side. I am sure there would be no shortage of volunteers to do this when called upon.

You said a mouthful there. I take this all the way back to Merrick Garland who TRIED to ignore/shirk his duty until the Jan 6 committee exposed what he tried to sweep under the rug, but it was too little too late from that loser. I'm starting to wonder if he has actually been in on a coverup from the start. Now fast forward a bit to Sleepy Joe who led everyone to believe he would be a one-term president ("transitional" was the term he used). THEN Joe claimed "I am the only one who can fix this" - where have we heard THAT bullsh!t before?

There was one guy, Dean Philips, who wanted to run in a Dem primary who looked VERY promising. He checked off almost all the boxes INCLUDING having really good hair. The DNC shut that down to their current embarrassing demise.

What REALLY frosts my ass is all the talking heads wringing their hands, crying "how are we going to bring back voters?" All they have to do is stop sucking up to corporate interests and serve the PEOPLE! Believe me, if they start actually performing like they keep PROMISING they will, the Democratic platform will sell itself. Duh.

From the moment Biden got elected it was obvious the next republican candidate would be from the MAGAverse. Top priority from day one should have been the identification of a next-generation centrist democrat who had some chance of re-uniting the country. That should have been the DNC's job to make it happen.

I'm old and don't have children, so I'm going to stop worrying about politics and just hope the Social Security checks keep coming  😊
