Trump Plans new Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China

Had Harris been elected and Mexico showed any genuine interest in slowing it down, they'd be flying them in directly from south of the Darien Gap on chartered flights.  Not to mention, Mexico didn't have a genuine interest in slowing down the flow of money for the cartels and money from future remittances.  She was just hedging against a Trump win, and the threat of tariffs.

Tariffs should not be part of the immigration and border security equation. It looks like Trump is backing off his tariff hikes with Mexico after some vague assurances from the new Mexico President. Perhaps it was just a hollow threat or perhaps a heavy dose of flattery by President Manuel. .

Of course there is a way to make it work. Reduce the American minimum wage to $3.7 per hour will give it parity with China. Then America will bring back industries to the home country.

Easy!

BBC news has just announced that the Mexican President has admitted she has had a Telephone conversation with Trump but denies say she agreed to any border closing but has said that the caravans would be stopped/restricted.

It's possible. That's what he did last time after he broke the NAFTA agreement. He got a few concessions, changed the name of the agreement, and claimed a big win! 😃

Well absolutely, a whole bunch of people are gonna get screwed over BIG and HARD by Big Don:

DEI grifters

The Mullahs

Hamas

Hezbollah

Ivy League Schools

Cuba and Venezuela

The Cartels

Vlad the Killer

The Ukrainian grifter

Europe (watch them squeal when they got to pay, its a good time to be Polish or Hungarian though)

The UN

The Legacy Media

The Climate Grifters

Teachers Unions

The Trans Lobby

China

IMO the people who will get screwed over worst of all by Big Don will be the "basement dwellers" ( that's his name for them ) who voted for him. Plus minority groups who were stupid enough to believe him.

MAGA ... That is how you get manufacturers to stop out sourcing and return to the USA.  Good for the economy and workforce in the long run.  Probably inflationary on the short term for bigger ticket items.

Need to reverse the exodus of manufacturing sooner or later, and sooner is always better.

Sure same mantra from another foreigner who doesn't have the knowledge necessary to make an assertion.

Oxford anthropologist J.D. Unwin studied 86 societies and civilizations to see why some collapse and others don't. What did he find? That sexual debauchery leads to the collapse of a civilization within 3 generations.

Without prenuptial chastity, people usually regress into the lowest "dead" category as they become interested only in their own wants and needs. They become slaves to their appetites.

Cultures that have embraced total sexual freedom collapse within three generations. They might limp along for a time, powered by some momentum, but eventually, they are conquered or taken over by another culture.

It seems to be a dogma with you, foreigners can't possibly know anything about America, and you are the repository of knowledge pertaining thereto.

Having traveled to America many times, I know a lot about America and Americans.

OTOH, you could put the knowledge of most Americans about Australia on the head of a pin.

That's because we don't care about Australia except as it benefits us as a military base and tourist attraction. It's far away, and the mountains are probably nicer in North America although you got nasty creatures which is cool.

I've been in and out of Thailand for almost 40 years and I don't pretend to go analyze their politics.

Trudeau and Trump were on the phone. Trump said it was a good call while Trudeau mulling the need to go on the offence if the trade war eventuate. No country win in a trade war and tariff is not a beautiful word.

Please give us the terms of the original NAFTA agreement which were beneficial to the USA in comparison to the agreement negotiated by president-elect Trump. You mentioned concessions, please tell us what concessions were made and how that affected the American economy. Please also tell us whether or not the Biden Administration reversed the Trump agreement that replaced nafta.

Otherwise as usual, a Foreigner commenting without any knowledge of the subject

When did Trudeau become the President of Mexico, which was the country I was discussing?
