Yeah, used them all the time, but they just direct you to the booking agent with the best price. You don't book with Skyscanner.

I did not know that, but they will notify me about fares as they change. I am going to Scotland next May. I do not want to use KLM as they were a disaster last time and had dreadful food.

Looks like I wll be going with Emirates but I cannot see where you can book seats there.

You can book sets on the Emirates website

Depending on where you're going in the UK Emirates may require an additional flight which is a pain.

I did this in summer, Emirates flights 300K biz class for 2.

But if you are on the cheapest fare you have to pay for seat selection.

No additional flights flying to Glasgow, but maybe to Phuket on way back to Bangkok.

EVA to LHR and BA to GLW not too bad and even a bit cheaper than Emirates in Economy. Total travel time 16:45 and 16:00.

Terminal change at LHR but layover is more than 2 hours.

I did a search on arbitrary dates (May 7 to June 4).

Not used Skyscanner but Matrix Airfare search.

I regularly fly Emirates, and never book and pay for seat selection. Wait til check in and ask the Checker-In what seats are available. I think you can also do it for free via on-line check in.

No Guarantees you will get a seat of your preference. I'd rather pay a relatively small amount for a seat. Its still not guaranteed BTW, read the small print, but 99% of the time you should get the seat you paid for.

Anyone have any experience with Skyscanner for booking flights?

Great for checking flights. Then book direct with the airline. Its better than going through a 3rd party if things go t1ts up.

Is there not a risk of being bumped off a flight without a seat reservation, though, if it is over-booked (which you may only find out about at check-in)? Or are Emirates flights never over-booked?

Never happened to me in 15 years. Easier when only one passenger.

I always fly Emirates.  Went to Cape Town this year.  Booked flights and seats online.

Excellent airline.
