Dont have any advise but do want to wish the two of you all the best. I have seen your posts over the last few months and really do hope that she gets the visa this time!

Big Spuds,

In terms of a visit visa the embassy grade applications on a tier basis 1-3.

Tier 1 = Visa issued without interview, solely on the basis of the application form and supporting documents.

Tier 2 = Looking to issue the visa but a brief interview is necessary or further documents are required.

Tier 3 = Not happy and a detailed interview is deemed necessary.

If your girlfriend has never previously travelled outside of Thailand and lives in Pattaya I would suggest that her application would be assessed at tier 3; i.e. she will require a full interview for which she will have to wait c. 63 days from the date her application is received at the embassy. If she were to apply now then she would be interviewed in mid-September. I would advise her to apply now. If she currently does not have all of the supporting documents in her possession then she can take them when she goes to the interview.

You stated in a previous thread that your g/f was advised to return to the embassy in August because you will then have known each other 6 months and this will make it easier for her to get the visa. Whereas the longer a relationship has been subsisting the greater the chance of an application being successful, the immigration rules do not stipulate that a sponsor must have known the applicant for 6 months and UK Visas do not have a published policy stating this. The notion of having had to know each other for 6 months is therefore a red herring. What the visa officer is more concerned about is how long you have actually been in each others company. In other words it's no good having known each other for 2 years if, in that time, you've only spent 2 weeks together.

However, the visa officer will want to see that she has an incentive to return to Thailand at the end of her holiday and if she is not working then it is likely the visa will be refused. If your g/f chooses to lie to the visa officer (I'm not advocating that she does) then she should ensure that the lie is watertight. One slip and it blows the entire credibility of her application.

Hope this is of help.

Scouse.

No she does not work, i support her. She is bored however and looking for non bar work. (And struggling).

The evidence we have is over 150 pages easy. The Amount of work we have put into our folder is unbelievable. 5 months work easy. I have wrote letters detailing travel itenery and accomadation and plans for the future (to return to thailand to set up business for her)

But like you said no job = not much chance of success.

We are not going to lie, and we are not going to give up.

GF is calling embassy monday to explain date situation and ask advice.

Also i have told her to go to the embassy monday 25th july for the 1st interview, (unless she gets a better idea from the embassy)

Thanks for all the support. FIngers crossed.
