Here's my second endorsement of a local business today. Saengcharoen Chromium, just around the corner from Rimping along the river (near The Duke's for those who like that map reference :o, provides chrome and zinc plating and similar metallurgical services. I have had a few bits and pieces chromed there in the past.

Yesterday I brought in a set of old brake parts that I had been trying to clean and prep for refinishing, but had just not been able to clean up adequately. They polished off the caked on grease and dust, which no ordinary solvent could handle, then treated them to an electro-chemical bath that restored the original metal finish. In just over 24 hours I picked these things up--8 substantial pieces--looking like they had just rolled off the production line in Munich. Reasonable prices too

So any of you guys looking to brighten up your old bikes, cars, furniture, whatever--give Saengcharoen a try.

[ironically, these were the heavy items that I hurt my back lifting, which led to this morning's endorsement of Home Massage]

Im going to have to disagree with your endorsment.

I visited what im sure is the place you mentioned.

On their reciept the only english is SJ, 145/2-2.

There is a bunch of car bumpers etc standing out the front of the shop.

I had a 1.6 m x 32 mm galvanised steel pipe.

I asked them to chrome the first 25 cm on each end of the pipe.

I was told by an older lady (owner ?) that it was imposible, she would have to chrome the whole pipe.

I told her that I thought this was incorrect.

She insisted it was impossible & would cost me 2500 B for the whole pipe.

I said that was to expensive & offered 1000 B.

She said not possible, 2500 B.

I said thank you good bye.

She said, I can chrome the first 25 cm of each end for 1200 B !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After biteing my tongue to stop myself from verbaly tearing her head off, I agreed.

Next day I went to collect it, it wasnt ready, I think they did a rush job while I was waiting.

when it turned up, they had not only chromed the whole thing, but had then re done the ends, leaving a big lump where the two separate layers joined.

I said I only wanted the ends done, the rest is for free she said.

I will definatly not visit her shop again & I would recomend you all avoid it to.

I have been told of another place for chrome in CM.

On the same road alongside the river, passing the Duke's on your left, heading south.

Keep going for several km until you reach a big fly over, turn right here at the trafic lights, take the first soi on your left.

Im told theres a metal plating shop here, but havnt been there yet.
