Chonburi officials joined forces with Pattaya police to conduct a surprise raid at a Pattaya nightclub, uncovering drugs scattered on the floor and detaining 54 individuals who tested positive for drug use.

At 04:05 on December 8, Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Sritong and Deputy Governor Chaiporn Paephiromrat ordered a coordinated operation led by Chonburi Provincial Defense Officer Lt. Col. Chonthit Layananont and Bang Lamung District Deputy Officer Chief Petty Officer Pitthaya Korkaew. The team, along with Pattaya Police Chief Pol. Col. Navin Theerawit and over 100 law enforcement personnel, raided Eleven Pattaya, a nightclub on South Pattaya Road, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District.

The raid followed complaints from residents alleging that the venue was a hotspot for drug activity. Upon arrival, officers found over 200 patrons and employees enjoying music and alcohol. Activities were immediately halted, lights turned on, and patrons were separated by gender to undergo identification checks. No underage patrons were found on the premises.

Subsequently, urine tests revealed that 54 individuals, 40 men and 14 women, tested positive for drug use. Further inspection of the nightclub uncovered drug-like substances in clear ziplock bags scattered behind sofas, inside trash bins, and under tables. White powdery residue was also found in several areas.

In the club’s VIP room, officers disrupted a group of young men and women drinking and singing. As the raid commenced, some attempted to dispose of ketamine-like powder by scattering it throughout the room. Authorities also seized four ecstasy pills and additional ketamine-like substances weighing 16  grams in total.

The 54 individuals who tested positive for drugs were taken into custody for further testing to confirm the presence of narcotics in their systems. Those confirmed to be under the influence will be sent for rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, the confiscated substances and the nightclub manager were handed over to investigators. Charges include operating a venue without a license, illegal alcohol sales and allowing drugs on the premises. Legal proceedings are now underway.

No, that's just a 40-year old, hackneyed urban myth

The use of drugs seems to be widespread, no wonder drugs are big money in Thailand.

While the club was run illegally and obviously didn’t pass the brown envelopes around this month, I don’t see how they can be charged for “allowing “ drugs on their premises. I highly doubt that the people doing the drugs checked with the staff to make sure that it was okay. In any case I’m sure they will be back open soon enough.

How do they open a club that size and not bother to get a licence or a alcohol license 🙈

Not exactly difficult to get a alcohol license unless they had one but the hours stopped at 1am or something.

1 AM is the time these "after show" clubs start. They are frequented by young Thais and from hearsay the working girls from the gogos start the real fun with their Thai boyfriends.

One club off 3rd with open front stopped after sunrise. I could watch it from the hotel balcony. Terrible noise covering the neighbour hood. How mighty must the operators be that nothing is done?

Driving along Khopai Rd off South Pattaya Rd I repeatedly watch a club operating after 8 AM.

no club can run with the approval of some dark figures, some wear a brown uniform and drink free and get even a bonus, for 'securing' the place, from other clubs in uniform...
