Police in Phrae Province received a report on the morning December 9, of a man found dead in a pond near a garden in Moo 1, Muang Mo Subdistrict, Muang District, Phrae. The incident occurred near the Ban Muang Mo cemetery.

Authorities, including officers from Phrae Police Station, rescue teams, and a forensic doctor from Phrae Hospital, arrived at the scene around 07:40. Local officials, including Village Chief Khruawan Panyawai and Subdistrict Headman Thongthip Muang-un, were also present to assist in the investigation.

The body of the deceased was discovered in a chest-deep pond. Rescue workers retrieved the body and conducted a preliminary examination. The man, estimated to be about 30 years old, was identified as a Lao national from Savannakhet. He had been working in Rong Fong Subdistrict but had refused to return to Laos.

According to locals, the man was known for his daily alcohol consumption and had been staying in the area, taking care of gardens for local residents. Authorities suspect he may have been heavily intoxicated and accidentally fallen into the pond, leading to his death.

Police documented the scene and collected evidence but were unable to contact the man’s family. His body has been sent to the morgue at Phrae Hospital for further procedures. Investigations are ongoing.
