and you,  if theirs a pack of them.

I don't understand how these guys haven't figured out yet, that confrontation is best avoided in these situations. What did he expect was going to happen exactly ?

I might be able to answer you if I knew what it was he said or did. Can't it be that the pond life just felt like beating up on someone? It happens, even in Thailand. Surprised someone hasn't come up with "If you don't like being beaten up here, you should go back to your own country to be beaten up".

As is unfounded speculation on this forum, unfortunately!

It was posted by one of our betters that speculation is against forum rules???

I looked, but can't find any reference to speculation the rules....and I can't see how the forum would continue without being allowed to speculate.

Does a terrible pointing job in that picture.  If he can't do decent pointing he doesn't belong in LOS.

As usual....cowards.😎

Ah yes.

Were they supposed to challenge him one on one to a fight and hand him a pair of boxing gloves ? What world do you ppl live in ?

The Swiss guy probably insulted them and showed them zero respect. The concept on honour really seems lost on westerners. Big talk, no substance. Well some people aren't just talk.

It the civilized UK we probably would have stabbed him.

In the civilized USA they would have shot him.

In the Middle East they would have stoned him.
He is still standing, doesn’t look too bad, there was 6 of them so they definitely held back.

Family friendly image has been upheld, after a few days in hospital he will be as good as new.

Says the farang apologist who has had in his own personal life close calls from upsetting Thai people which nearly resulted in violence.

if you think that these boys were not provoked in anyway and just decided to beat up an old farang you are dumber than I thought.

OK, blame the victim. These Trouble seeking Punks don't need a Provocation....how long you life even in Thailand:stoner:

Did he eat his meal  before  parking his SUV!?

what a stupid question. These days in Pattaya, many tourists not feel safe, because of those gangs. And even if they would have sourrounded his car, he has all the right to ask them to leave.

Further moronic hyperbolic exaggeration from Asean-now's model of ignorance....

"4-6 Thai thugs definitely held back"....     No... Holding back would mean not smashing the car, not beating up a 66 year old man 4-6 on one....

It's likely Mr Manoutcher did something to provoke the punks. Didn't deserve a beat down though. Just another day in Patts I guess.

Nope - but I know others who have...   in both Thailand and elsewhere.

The common denominators in all situations is pure thuggery and weak law enforcement.

This was a group attack on one 66 year old man - in what world could this possibly be justified ?

I’m not saying the beating was justified.  Just avoidable.

Can you confirm the Swiss man didn’t bring it on by running his mouth?

I have witnessed that plenty of times by farangs in Thailand in various situations.

A completely unprovoked attack.  Never witnessed by me

Absolutely not... I'd go as far as to make the assumption that he may have even swore at them and told them to 'get the f... of his car' (IF thats what happened - again just speculation of course) - that still does not warrant a 4-6 on 1 beating and smashing up the car.

For this reaction to take place, these were the 'types' of thugs to be looking for an issue rather than simply react out of necessity.

Did he provoke them in any way?

Of course he did.

I have worked in Thailand for many years and lived here for over 20 years.

Youths just don't do those things without being provoked, yes in other countries not Thailand.

The culture is very different from that of the west, an aggressive blast of a car horn, the middle finger, yelling out like a lunatic is considered provocation, I see this behaviour everyday from foreigners on Soi Buakhou. He's upset them some how.

This is what the the Thai tourist should be concerned about ruining the Image of Pattaya as a world class family Tourust resort not some old slappers fighting on the beach at 0200hrs in the morning 😱

My guess is that this Swiss guy parallel park or park his car blocking others from exiting. Moreover if he did that, he did not place a note on his windscreen with his mobile number in case of emergency. These actions would piss off any guy let alone a group of Thais. Being beaten down for self entitlement is the result.
