Pathiu flooding?

Featured Replies

A friend visited Pathiu last month and recommended a visit so I was looking at visiting this weekend or New Years eve. Obviously since my friend visited I've read about the flooding a couple of weeks ago but I can't find any updates on the news.

Anyone in the area can update me on the flooding situation? Is it worth visiting? I'm restricted on dates I can visit as I'm going with a Thai schoolteacher who only has 4/5 days holiday.

If referring to Chumphon, shouldn't be a problem, especially if arriving from the north of.  Flooding probably receded by now, if not, ways around it.

Travelling from Hua Hin.

You should be fine.  This news blip states problem (Sawi district) is 100 kms south of Pathio District.  Even that is 10 days old.

There's a nice coffee shop/restaurant along the way, if wanting a break after 2hrs driving.   Ban Jib.. Just off the main road.   Do a nice Green Curry Chicken w/Roti, and Khee Mao.   Decent deserts.

The Garage Cafe on the Northbound lanes is decent also.

Links to, for some reason, can't embed... you'll have to Google, use Gmaps

"Ban Jib บ้านจิบ ที่บ้านกรูด"

"Garage Cafe Chumphon"

Nice lake area with a bunch of deer & bridge, 'photo opt'

Google this ... " Nong Yai Area Development Project Under Royal Initiative"

Deer are located here ...

Google "Suspension Bridge - Deer" or ' 10.547215, 99.196395 " in Gmaps
