December 27, 20241 yr If you owe no or little tax to the TRD you can get a refund of (part of) the withholding tax (10%) you've been paying on received Thai dividends. Does this apply to tax residents in Thailand only, or does it also apply to individuals who aren't tax residents in Thailand because they've been staying less than 180 days in Thailand? If the former, any refund could double as proof you're a tax resident in Thailand. If the latter a refund is no proof of Thai tax resident status and you're back to square one when it comes to proving Thailand is your tax residence.
December 28, 20241 yr Your question seems to be: "What document do I need to prove that I am a tax resident in Thailand?"

I'll file taxes this year and probably get a substantial refund on my withholding tax, and I was wondering whether this would also provide me with proof I am a tax resident in Thailand. What with border poiints starting not to stamp passports any more, I know I can get a "travel record" from Immigration instead, but I like to keep errands at Immigration at a minimum.
