I think it was Laura Loomer who threw the handgrenade into the middle of the party. And she is a super Trump supporter. When Loomer brought up Elon's H1Bs, he immediately melted down, demonitized her, removed her premium account, and launched a tirade threatening war against anybody challenging his plans to increase Indian H1Bs. Subsequently, his H1Bs at X have been cancelling and shutting down scores, if not hundreds of accounts that merely disagreed with Elon. I've never seen Musk act like this. Keith Olbermann said on X that Musk should be killed, and even that didn't get a sanction. But criticize H1Bs and Elon goes into narcissistic rage.

Perhaps he could open up the Vatican to them and show us how it is done.

There is a double standard playing out. Musk and his smarmy sidekick Vivek bemoan the US educational system and yet, they are opposed to properly funding education and wish to  abolish the Department of Education. Neither of the two has made significant contributions to education in the USA. The Gates and Clinton Foundations have. The Walton and Koch foundations have. In fact they have done more for bimedical and production engineering R&D than Musk and Vivek have.

 

I give Trump credit for being honest. I disagree with him, but on this, he's not running away or pretending he does not exploit the visas.  The tech industry loves these visas because they can hold the visa over the heads of the workers and pay them less than US nationals. Indians will accept living 5 in a room with only a fan. They will accept working longer hours. Their productivity may be no better than US nationals, but they will accept the abuse if they can get a green card and be able to bring 20 family members over.
